Day 31 or so. Three plants got water, one gallon each. Gave a little more to the Gorilla Cookie; seemed to need it. Have been clipping lower growth and selectively taking fan leaves to try to open things up on all four. Also tied back branches a bit more on the three that got water. I’m afraid I may have overtrained and slightly stunted the Creme. We will see, but next time I will let her grow a bit taller and develop a central cola. Note to self. Gorilla showing signs of needing a little something extra, though I’ll give a little more time for the Dr Earth to kick in. Soil has compressed a bit, and next week will likely add another couple inches of ff. All four plants pretty different in their growth patterns and development. Light is around 75% and 20” above tallest growth. Straight spring water today. Pics are before and after tuck/trim/water/rotate sesh.

while I worked the garden this morning, listened to the podcast Shaping Fire, episode 89, which is all about autos. Great discussion. Very informative and reaffirming as a grower.

Day 35, though none should trust my math. As can be expected, three different cultivars are all behaving a bit differently.

White Widow is the stretchiest and dictating light height, running around 78% and 20+ inches above tallest plants. Running 24 hours to maintain steady heat (75-79f or so). Added new Vivosun fan to supplement the ac infinity that no longer oscillates. Seems a great deal.

Watered with one gallon each on WW and GG Spring water with one tbsp Epsom salt, one drop BTi (preventative). Also added a top layer of FF for some additional nutes. They got some Dr Earth a short time ago also but seem hungry and are showing hints of needing a little more as they get into flower. Coming along nicely. Rotated with watering and cleared out a little of the larfy growth on the taller plants. The Cremes are bushes, but starting to move into flower and look a little more interesting.

Watered Creme de la Chem #2 with one gallon and a tblsp of Epsom salt. Added a layer of ff. The Mephisto site describes “golf ball” sized nugs, which I can see. I may have overtrained, but she’s a dense grower with lots of bud sites. Should be interesting over the next few weeks. Here are the two Cremes - and my little heater.

CC #1 with a gallon of water plus Epsom. Tons of undergrowth, which I’m leaving for now as she’s so squat. Interesting plant. Placed a box underneath both CC to raise to lights a little more.

Day 37 or 38. The white widow xxl is living up the the name - super stretchy. Both the WW and the Gorilla Cookies are showing signs of what I think must be calcium deficiency since I’ve been giving epsom salt, which should address magnsesium. They’ve been pretty well fed by dry amendments, but some of the older leaves are definitely developing rust spots. I’ll likely hit them with some cal mag next watering, though I had hoped to avoid all liquid nutes. Just not quite there on peeing as part of the regiment, though it’s under consideration. The Creme de la Chem are up front, now on boxes/raisers. Bushy, as can be, and I’m unsure how much of the lower growth the trim as she’s so short. Will try again with less training with the two remaining seeds. Gorilla rear left, White Widow XXL rear right, both coming along well aside from the potential calcium issue.

You could be locking out the ca with the Epsom salts. Dr earth already contains calcium, mag, and sulfer

I would try adding just calcium. Should be plenty in the dr earth tho, that's why I'm thinking lock out due to over abundance of mag.
The new growth looks healthy (I’m more worried about light with the tall stuff). All old growth that’s showing the spots. I’ll observe for a bit more and/or seek a good calcium source.

What kind of dr earth are you using? I have 4-4-4 and 3-9-4. I always toss a few tbsp of the 3-9-4 in with the veg mix. Dolomite lime is a good calcium sorce, azomite too. The azomite also contains a ton of trace minerals

I’ve got the 4-6-3 mix, all they had at the local store a while ago, though it got me through them last grow well.

Looks like it's got plenty of calcium from fishbone meal. Lots of mag from the kelp in it too. At 1/4 cup a few weeks ago, you should be good. If I'm wrong, I'll keep my crappy advice to myself from now on

I gave a heavy watering with plain/filtered water to decent runoff. Hoping to address the apparent calcium issue. They were thirsty anyway. Pics of the two taller plants (white widow and gorilla cookies) that are showing the rust spots on some of the older leaves. Rotated again and adding an update pic. Cremes are on the left.

Day 41. All four plants thirsty and watered. Water from home filtered system this time. Too cold to hit the spring right now. White Widow is stretchy and tall. Cremes are bushy and coming along nicely. They’re stocky, and I’ll be interested how they develop and produce in the end. Same goes for all, really I’ve elevated them but also keeping close eye for light burn. Raised the light a bit and currently running at @75%, 24 hours a day. I do not expect this crop to experience darkness.

White Widow XXL needed water today. Front right in the new rotation. Still using water from home filter system rather than spring water. Hopefully can refill those tomorrow. Both the white widow and gorilla cookies are pushing 30” and I hope the stretch is over. Some leaves showing what I suspect is a slight light burn or light related mag issue, something I’ve found easy to do with autos. I raised the light again, though there’s not much more room to go. PPFD around 450-550, which is likely all or even more than they’ll need. DLI readings coming 45-55 or so. Temp 75-78 or so, humidity capped at 52% currently. Tried to pull a few of the WW branches away from the center. Overall feeling good about things. I had expressed concern about the Creme de la Chem, though they seem to be doing pretty well, just a different grow structure and pace, and it’s getting easy to imagine the “golf ball” sized nugs as advertised. The two tall girls look like they’re going to make drivers or baseball bats. I sure as hell hope so. Predictably running out of room in the 3x3 with four plants and a heater.
45 days in. Half way point?

48 days in. Two tall plants and two stocky. Everyone was thirsty. They seem to be dong pretty well, though there is also some leaves showing damage on the two taller growers. Appears as potential mag deficiency and not widespread. Too much light from time to time? Needed the amendments a little earlier? Leaves that have sat too close to the heater also showing signs of too much heat as well, but the heater is a must. The alternative would be smaller pots and/or three plants. The two rear plants are both over 30”, pretty tall in my auto experience. Overall, things going decently well.

Yea awesome I've never grown autos before I'll be happy if they come anywhere close to those. Just won the giveaway here from gorilla won a five pack of Autos gorilla zkittles. Really can't wait all my grows are outside. Really contemplating hard at turning my closet to grow just two.

Day 52 or so and some issues starting to set in. Creme both progress nicely, and I think it’s not a coincidence that the healthiest plants are also the shortest. I’ve backed off the lights yet again, but there’s leaf damage on both of the taller plants. One has some leaves that are crispy on the tips and curling upward. The other plant has some of the same, but more generally some rust spots. All the worst stuff is on the tallest growing stalks, which makes me think too much light. Could be too hot a soil, though I doubt it. Maybe they’re even hungry. I haven’t recharged soil in a few weeks a really didn’t plan to. The heater could also be causing some issues as I rotate the plants around. It’s having to run hot, and things are cramped in the 3x3. Running four plants with the heater was always an experiment. Interested if others have thoughts about the imperfections I’m seeing. This is when they always show up, right?
