Dead dry leaves in week 5 to 7

Hello,

This is my second grow, last time and again this time I've had the leaves near the buds be green and fine in the morning when watering then at night when I get home I'm finding crisp brown leaves.

I'm in a 1.2m tent under 600w hps set 45cm above canopy, I'm in soil and have 3 plants, last time I used nutrients but thought perhaps I'd gone ott on the nutrients and nutrient burnt em this time I decided I'd try go 100% no newts and see if I had a difference as I'm looking at moving to coco on my 4th grow anyway but I've had the same thing happen, im also getting 20 to 30% water run off every water and soil is still damp when I return at night. This occurred both times from week 5 through to 7.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also as a side note I've got triple the amount of sugar than my last grow.
Last grow I got 6.5 ounces so hopefully I've improved my lollipopping, low stress training and deforestation and already looking like I'm guna hit a new record.

Based on title, and assuming leaves are coming from inside the cola, I'd say bud rot.

Are the leaves in between the buds?

I thought bud Rot last time too but I checked when I trimmed and they dried and smoked fine had no mould under microscope near steam last time, if anything I may had harvested to early as I had a nice head high but it went away quickly.

I'm getting alot of yellowing and drop off but the brown super dry and crisp is in between the buds

Here we go, it's not just the bud leaves the bigger one is from slightly lower down the stalk. I cant take a good picture at the moment of the stem behind the bud as the hps is on but will get one tomoro, but looks completely fine, still green no discoloration

Maybe describe your no nutrient regime, and runoff EC meter readings for the pros on here to see?

Dying leave are to be expected during flower because we deprive the plant of nitrogen in flower. The plant still wants it a little, but we don’t feed it. So the plant feeds off itself through the fan leaves and eventually they die and fall off. As far as crispy leaves, that only happen to me when my light is too close or tent is too hot. Based on that leaf picture, that’s looks like nute burn.

I do not know if the people replying are reading all of your first post. You have a 4x4. 600w hps. Old timers would recommend a minimum of 50w hps per flowering sq ft. Maybe you could hang your light to cover a 3 x 4 space in your tent for your next round of flowers. Judging by your comments on your current grow compared to previous one, seems like you are on a learning curve and are already improving.

What is your grow medium? What size are the plant containers? What variety is that with the narrow leaves? Can you take pictures of the plant with ordinary light? The last set of pictures is good except for the hps glow that washes out the colour of the leaves.

Hey mate thanks for your help,

I am definitely on a learning curve I'm really enjoying looking after my girls, growing em and cloning em and want to keep educating and doing more an more as funds from the grows keep improving my setup, next I want to get a ph pen and a nutrient pen.

I am in potting mix atm and want to move to coco in my next clones. I'm in 30L 40cm pots. I sadly dont know anything of the strains they were originally seeds I had from ounces over a year every time I do clones I always sprout 2 new girls from seed and track there movements through out the grow into dry and smoke until I find better and better strains.

I thought nutrient burn hence why as a learning point I did this grow completley organic no nutrients in the potting mix but without nutrient pen is it possible the nutrients are to high or to low causing this.

As a side note the front three are the cloned of the ones in question, back 2 are new from seed.

They've just been lollipopped and cloned if any one has some additional pointers on how my technique is on these. (Also not sure why these clones grew tall and skinny as opposed to my first lot of clones)

The fourth and fifth images are worrying. That limp inverted canoe look is trying to tell us something. I can understand your concern. Lets ask a hps grower. @OneHitDone might see this tag and come in a give us his opinion.

If clones show leggyness compared to previous growth of same, the reason could be light and/or environmental. Crowded/over-shadowed plants or just low lighting levels are usually the culprit.

Hopefully others come take a closer look at picture 4 and 5 in post #13. Something is going on in the rootzone. Its disconcerting, when considering your previous comments about moist media.

Oh, it looks like heat stress / too much light intensity, and nutes burn

Actually some look like it's just used up leaves too, different plants different symptoms
