day 50 of flower, pics, budrot?

zup guys. Well, i'm on day 50 of flower and were looking good but today something smells rotten in the cab of pot. Alot of the buds smell kinda funky and have what apears to be small green balls all over them, some of the buds even look like they're loosing some size, but i'm not sure. I'm only on my second run and could use some help judging these pics. I'm sorry for the poor picture quality, i'm no photagrefer and the pics were hard to take with the hps on and even harder with it off!:-(

they look great and i see no signs of rot, do you have your plants pots on carpet if so it is possible you spilt water on the carpet or watered and it went throught the pot and into the carpot and this can cause a bad smell ive done it before but it is harmless

whats the ppm of your nutes? what wattage light? what nutes? just curious. seems like you could have cranked it a little more on the flower food. otherwise they look nice. how long did you veg for?

Thanks for replying, +rep for you. They are not on a carpet, i'll include a pic taken on day 39 that shows the entire setup. I'm really scared of loosing this harvest you see. On my last run which was also my first grow, i lost 50% of the harvest to budrot, i cried. If i loose this one, i'm on foodstamps. You see those green ball thingies on some of the buds? They're kinda hard to see on the pics cause of the tricomes but you should be able to see the conture of them on the dark picture. I don't know, just doesn't smell fresh, smells sour really. If you now of any good literatur on the subject i'd be very happy.

Hello friend. here is some basic info on the grow: Strain=LSD. 2,75 gallon pots, 50/50 coco/hydroton mix, GH nutes, ppm(700 scale) as high as 1800-1900 mid-flower but for the most part 1000-1200(that's what i'm runnig now. The cab is a 2x3, 600w hps(overkill)? anyway they look nice i must admit but i'm a noob and scared of fucking up so. those green ball thingies aren't on all the buds just some. They're sleeping now but i can post more(better) pics tomorrow if someone's interested. sorry if my english is bad.

i might be trippin but on the last pic i think i see one of the green pods your talking about, in my opinion it looks kinda like a seed pod.. , i think a plant will make a rare seed or 2 even if it hasnt been pollinated.. dont worry tho they look furry as fuck (and by furry i mean trichomes.. not mold haha) they look good man.
i actually found one of my tiny buds on the lower of the plant was rotted, but i havent found any other buds that rotted i freaked out, i threw the rotted on away before i could get pics, ive got a thread under the hospital thread if you wanna look at them to see if there are signs of rot. i think another sign of rot is leaves dying, and you dont have that happening.

you mean the THC is in teh bud material not on them,
and also cannabinaloic i see no signs what soever of rot, i did notice in your last pic you posted that it looks like your plants pots sit in a tray, and it alsolooks like it has brown water sitting in it, this could also be making a bad smell, plus it is bad and can cause gnats. oh and the bal lookin things you see are called calyxs they are what the seed is made in if pollinated, yours do not look pollinated and just look full of resin so good job on the plants and stop worrying so much they look fine

no such thing as overkill with lights. the sun is at 100,000 lux(lumens per square meter) you'll only burn em if it's too hot.

you should add something special and expensive during flowering like that root candy stuff(the name escapes me right now, it's got a picture of a flower on it with a skull face) or something. experiment, it's worth it i think the expensive stuff makes a big difference.

correct me if i'm wrong but thc is not in the plant cells, it forms outside the cell membrane.
thc is in the trichomes, which aren't the bud, but form on the bud to catch pollen. if you break a nug up you'll find trichomes on the plant matter, not fused inside the plant cells. the point being that thc is indeed on the bud.

okay thx guys i'll keep an eye on them. btw the sun gives out a maximum lumens pr square ft of 10 000, and that's only on a cloud free sunny day at the equator. You can bleech the plant which i have done with my 15 000 lumens pr sq.ft in the 2x3, even if temperatures are ok. Don't know if bleeching is a problem though.

They look good man. Just a word of advice though. All that lower trim you have at the bottom of the plant is wasted potential. Remember two things.

1: If the light doesn't penetrate, than its never going to turn to nugs.
2: Anything that you remove from budding is essentially added to top production.

Think of it this way. If you spend 2 hours in the gym and spend 1.5 on upper body and .5 on lower, you are top heavy but you can stand on your two feet. really you should do 50/50. but with weed, you really just want to spend the whole 2 hours on the top half.

yes theri is a such thing its called light bleaching, and no expensive nutes is really dumb and not worth it yes they may work but just as well as the cheaper stuff, and all bud candy is is molasses most bud sweetener and fattener nutes are almost 90 percent molasses. and as for the seed well its still gets pollinated but by its self.

sorry but you wrong, yes theri is thc in the trichs along with other compounds but theri is thc in all the plant material even in males. so yes theri is thc in the trichs but alot is in the buds, as wellas the stem, leafs and every thing else form the plant

i know youve been corrected once, but i also wanted to point out that Trichomes are not for collecting pollen. Trichomes are more of a defense mechanism for the plant, helping it with a range of things from deterring pests to acting as a sunblock (they actually filter the light that hits the plant). Its 'Pistils', the duo of hairs that come out of the calyxes are for catching pollen.

Aside from that, thc and cbd can be found in almost all places on the plant, its just that the higher concentrations of it are in the buds (due to be swollen with resin if they dont get pollen) and the frost (trichomes). Hope it helped a bit.
