Day 12 (Northern lights struggle?)

Peace! Hope all is well with everyone! These babies are on day 12, all autos! 2 planted in a mix of FFHF/FFOF, one is all OF, and the last one northernlights is completely HF. Light schedule has been 18/6… with the exception of last night, got zooted and left the lights on overnight which to my surprise presented some growth! (Plants and leaves are a tad bit bigger than pictured)…. At any rate, the northerlights seems to be struggling a bit… is the look normal? Or is there an issue? Any and all feedback is welcomed. I’d been thinking of a nute line, but was told I could topdress with just OF and water when the time to feed does come? Thoughts?

Time and time again I say when nothing is happening on top the root factory is hard at work below.

What are your temps? Light spec/distance?

Next time if you do autoflowers again use a seedling mix to start. Your priority is to establish a good rootsytem asap and a low EC media will do just that! No luxury of extra veg time with autos either.

Bump the temps up I’m guessing. Good luck!

Tent sits at 80-85 Fahrenheit… think that still needs a bump? I also noticed my PH had been too high, so I’ve got that corrected from 6.7/7 down to 6.0… maybe that helps?

Nah that’s good. Lighting, u said u noticed more growth with 24hr lighting? What wattage and how close?

If none of those then it’s just the hot soil slowing them down.

Use a root stim if u can find one

you should not water just around the seedling you should water the whole pot and just wait till it gets dry before watering again.

how did you check ph? unless you did a slurry test just testing the runoff ph would be very pointless and unless you have crazy acidic or alkaline water there shouldnt be a problem regarding ph with fresh buffered pre mixed soil.

I used a meter… my two comes out at 8, so I started to used PH down a few days ago. The meter came but the solution never did so I had to drive an hour away to buy again.

I’d been seeing so many different things about watering the entire pot, just around the plant and it seemed that consensus was to just “water around the plants”… so I hadn’t ever watered the entire pot SMH. I feel like a pure dumb a** lol

i dont know who was giving this advice to just water around the plant but roots will not grow into dry soil so your soil should have good drainage and pots should have drainage holes and you should soak all medium in the pot and wait for it to dry again. this is how i do it anyway.

as for ph i dont play that i have the truth about this or that game anymore :) i dont ph ever my water is purified water which comes out at 6.5 or similar but no carbonates so it doesnt alter anything in my mix which is heavy on the coco coir side and in some tents all organic coco coir. so ok if you want to ph, ph but dont get too excited and “flush” your soil out. there are organic nutrients in there you are flushing.
