Day 10, from sprout (pics)

I got a couple more lights today was thinking if it was enough for 4 plants?

x3 45w 3000k CFL's
x4 18w 4100k CFL's
x1 27w 5000k Lamp
x1 17w 6500k CFL

they seem to be growing fine, I think I should transplant soon, every time I water I see the roots are coming out the drain holes in the bottom of these 6 inch pots. The stems also strengthened over just 2 days.. Right after I twisted them... dont know if thats coincidence or that the twisting helped. But they sure feel nice and strong.


ohhhh and they seem a little droopy, I watered them about 12 hours ago... It might be a tad hot (85 degrees) or so.... but I think they are fine... also when can I start nutes??

one of the plants look a lil droopy...just a lil...maybe you water it a bit much. but overall looks very good for just 10 days man. lights are good for now...maybe a couple more of the 5000k and the 6500k....thats the spectrum for veg. what lights are you goin to use for flowering

5000K lamp? Is that aluminum foil I see? I hear a good rule of thumb is about 3 lights for every one plant.

u couldve went with a couple 125w cfl bulbs for same elec output but wit a higher lumen,my 125 puts out 12000lumens

it's a trade-off though - at least this way, when the plants grow he can position the lights all around the plant to expose all the leaves. 12,000 lumens is great, but only if the whole plant is being exposed to them.

with 1 or 2 125w bulbs they'd have to be placed on top and the bottom of the plants would receive little light.

looking the goods at this stage.

true true,but wit 1 125 and lst u can get a monster that will put out so much bud that its unbelievable,if all goes well for me,ill be lookin at 400g it has 12 tops now but it will soon have 20 tops total puttin like 20g per top,by top i mean colas,im goin to make one clone and turn it to a mother and give it away but i will still get clones from it from the person i give it to,cus only got enough room for one plant,this way i dont kill the strain that i have

Noob question... they make 125w cfl's? The highest I saw was the 26 watters. So I'm going with 3 of them for the one plant... sound good? I have them strung across one wire, gonna have them hanging at different elevationsand spots and keep moving them so my baby gets a good all-around tan : ) Only problem is I dont see the type anywhere, like soft light, natural light... If I was to go with any one type of light, shouldn't it be the natural light one? Or should I combo it?
Not tryin to thread jack, you guys were just on the subject of light so I decided to chime in lol.

The 26w cfl is = 100w reg. bulb.....the 42w cfl = 150+w reg, where I'm at you can get the 42w cfl at any hardware........check Light bulbs, Rope Lights, Halogen and Fluorescent bulb - 1000-Bulbs - The Light Bulb Superstore

Yeah the lamp is in the back of this picture. Its like a triple CFL haha.

I was thinking the same lights, because I dont think I will be coming up with enough money to purchase a HPS, or MH + Ballast.... Its also pretty hard to find those kelvin rated bulbs around, highest I could find last time out were these 4100k.

somehow my last post ended up on the first page inbetween, like I edited an old one or something... anyhow.. I tried this soil NPK Test kit with tablets and test tubes, it came out to be between colors n shit and its all confusing... why dont you take a look at the picture and tell me if this can be interpreted at all.. lol... I think the PH is 7, the Nitrogen is Medium-High, the Phosphorus is also Med-High, the pottasium is HIGH. I have two plants showing different problems right now, but they dont seem to be spreading. Ill let the pictures do the speaking. I lined the inside of my lamp hoods with mylar :-D

1.NPK Test (Ph=Green,Nitrogen=red,Phos=Blue,Pot=cloudy)
2-5.Bushy plant lil droopy and small discoloration on first leaves.
6-7.Sad plant, weird watery yellow discoloration on leaves, and one leaf lost its tip due to yellow and crispyness.
8. side view of grow box. (lights removed for picture,notice the middle plant leaning from the fan on its left)
9. top view of the grow box with the lights all situated correctly (notice the 2 fan's, one on each side blowing on the box, also not pictured is a fan at the entrance to the closet pulling air in from the window in the bathroom)

sorry for all the pictures, I love growing these things already and its my first grow... I like to be informative, hopefully someone benefits from some of my information... I was fuxing around with the small bushy one while taking pics and I was LST'ing it by bending the stems slightly, and it bent like a mcdonalds straw would when you bend it in half... and it made a small popping noise.. but its still standing straight... soil is bone dry right now too, but I overwatered them a lil I think before.. not sure why they are getting sick..:joint::peace:

You should post this in Marijuana plant problems - you would be more likely to get a response there. I would help, but I'm really not sure what the problem is - could be numerous things.

ok apparantly they were rootbound, after posting in the plant problems, I got some answers... anyhow I just transplanted them into bigger containers, and gave them a shot of 1/5 strength nutes after a couple days... they are awesome, growing about an inch a day or so..... I started the LST and they are bushing real well... I got some new pics but I dont have the digi cam so I had to use my celly... so the pics arent very good quality.. they are 20 days old now.

400grams under 1 125w cfl? that i would have to see to believe. and then i still wouldnt believe it.

They look BEAUTIFUL! I cant wait to see them go through the flowering stage, its so interesting, and fulfilling. Anyways they have taken real nice to the LST and are growing like bandits... I try to get all the branches horizontal so the main stem gets a lot of light, more bud sites pop out...

BTW is RIU under construction atm? Its having terrible errors. Hard to post a thread with pics!
