It also reminds me alot of the plant, Belladonna, which was used in witchs brews and such.... In my opinion, dont do it, these plants r just too unknown to use safely...[/QUOTE]
I believe belladonna is another name for angel trumpets. I have never taken these, but know some people who have, sounds pretty intense. if you do it be careful. I wouldnt even think about taking this unless you were pretty experienced with other hallucinogins. let us know what its like if you end up doing it.

stay away from datura. that shit is poison and can kill you or make you have a very nasty unpleasant trip.
yes it is also called belladonna, also nightshade or mandrake. it is considered a delirium cause it will pretty much make you feel delirious, sick, and have a terrible trip. it's been used as a poison for murder and suicide. but it does make you hallucinate so you could still consider it a hallucinogen. my friend used to grow it and eat the seeds to get fucked up. although he always seemed kinda fucked up eating seeds or not. he gave me a thorn apple(throny pod full of seeds) once but i threw it out after reading about it. the choice is yours but if i were you i would stay away. they make cool looking plants tho

I've done it. It's also known as Jimson weed. Basically, you make a tea of the seeds. It tastes just awful. I started out with maybe a half a cup of the juice. I didn't trip, but it dried up all my mucous glands. My throat was so dry I couldn't swallow, and I couldn't get enough water. I didn't even want to try another dose. Stick to shrooms. IMO, it's a gentler, more pleasant trip with less unpleasantness.

if anyone does it let me suggest you set up a video camera in advance, this could get good:D

Man I just read "The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge" by Carlos Castaneda and wow, super detailed accounts of the cultivation, preparation, use and sorcery involving this sacred plant. Carlos prepared different parts of the plant depending on the sex. Also he always tripped with a few lizards with him, used them for sorcery. You should check it out, very detailed and WILD shit.

do angeltrumpets with flowers which have fully bloomed have more alkaloids in them than the ones which haven't bloomed?

For making tea a leaf or 2 leafs are enough.Preparation is like linden tea or sage tea and drinking a half of a little tea glass(about 150-200 ml) is absolutely enough.

I know from experience, that if you've already decided to do this, anything I say will be disregarded but; I have these growing in my yard, the big purple and white flowered kind. My daughter's ex boyfriend had the brilliant idea of making tea with these. He made some, about a quart of water with 2 good sized leaves. He drank half of it and started having excruciating abdominal pains. He threw up until he had the dry heaves and then continued to heave for 10 hours. In his mind he thought he was at work and couldn't even recognize my daughter. Finally my daughter called an ambulance and he was taken to the emergency room. The tea caused all his mucus membranes to dry and the underlying tissue to crack in his mouth and nose. His eyes became so dry and inflamed that he could not see for 4 days. He had to be put on an IV and pretty much knocked out because of the pain and constant delusions for two days. Did I mention that he also had to be restrained to keep him from clawing his eyes out? He bit his tongue so badly that it swelled until he could not open his mouth and split open. This has been 2 years ago, and he now has a nervous tic in his face which he attributes to the Angel's Trumpet. I love shrooms, but this is nothing like that. Do yourself a favor. If you want to trip, get some good clean acid or better yet Shrooms.

This is probably my favorite trip report on datura. It's worth the read even if you aren't interested in taking it:

http://www.erowid.org/experiences/exp.php?ID=17700
lol i love that trip report. i've talked to freinds about datura before and its normally that one i try to quote.

i think my favorite report tho is much older than that one all the way back to jamestown when jimsonweed got its name

The James-Town Weed (which resembles the Thorny Apple of Peru, and I take to be the plant so call'd) is supposed to be one of the greatest coolers in the world. This being an early plant, was gather'd very young for a boil'd salad, by some of the soldiers sent thither to quell the rebellion of Bacon (1676); and some of them ate plentifully of it, the effect of which was a very pleasant comedy, for they turned natural fools upon it for several days: one would blow up a feather in the air; another would dart straws at it with much fury; and another, stark naked, was sitting up in a corner like a monkey, grinning and making mows [grimaces] at them; a fourth would fondly kiss and paw his companions, and sneer in their faces with a countenance more antic than any in a Dutch droll.

In this frantic condition they were confined, lest they should, in their folly, destroy themselves — though it was observed that all their actions were full of innocence and good nature. Indeed, they were not very cleanly; for they would have wallowed in their own excrements, if they had not been prevented. A thousand such simple tricks they played, and after eleven days returned themselves again, not remembering anything that had passed. – The History and Present State of Virginia, 1705[11]

Datura or tatula is also a medicine for asthma in some countries.Atropin and scopolamin are the active ingredients in it.Atropin is a very interesting shit.It can be uses very very small dose before the operation(surgery) for respiratory relaxation. It also can be uses as a CPR unit when respiration is off and I used this thing several times for that.Atropin has symphatetic or parasympathetic effects due to dossage and situation.I have drunk datura tea once in my life and it was about 12 years ago and it was terrible and now I know what it has got and what atropin is,what it means...I think I will never do that again never.

a certain otc antihistamine (i'm not saying) is a synthetic form of belladonna alkaloids. Fuckin crazy only thing that will give you real hallucinations that I've ever done. Death trip. Having hour long conversations with dead friends type shit. There were 20 brujas right outside my window for hours. You don't want to do it it's not a fun time and all you learn is to never fuck around with that family of drugs. they are not a joke
