Dark period before harvest

How long do you leave your plants in the dark before the crunch?

I think there trying to ruin bud might aswell pore coke all over your bud and stick it in a press

Backed by science, look in ANY book on Horticulture/Botany at what happens when ANY plants roots are starved of O2 (what happens during a flood) watering with boiling water makes it happen instantly, whereas flooding the roots creates a potential for mold
Read most of the grow books dont recall reading that

Really, where did you get that from? No way I've every lost 20% of my weight from a 24-48 dark period prior to harvest or quality increased because of it.
Well okay, I guess it would be more like 10% than 20. You know what starch is, right? And you are aware that plants use starch for energy in the dark? Then obviously a plant would weigh less after a dark period than before. Or is your position that starch is weightless? And if some "dead weight" is removed from weed, would that not result in the remaining material having higher potency?

And where does this starch magically go too? And no starch is not weightless.
