How you guys doin.. I got a question I been flowering my plants for bout 4weeks now but I'm gonna be gone comein up for this 4th of july weekend if any thing I'll buy a timer but can I leave my plants n the dark for the while day or will that mess up the cycle big time?? Also if not can I jus give it a bit more dark time then light? Or will somethin happen ?

Wait what? Are you asking if you can leave it dark during the day time? If that is, then yes you can but you can't have major light leaks or that will mess with your plants. It'll confuse them thinking the lights are on and won't get the proper growth in the darkness it needs. Just leave 12 hours of undisturbed darkness and 12 hours of light and you're good.

leave the light on instead of off.
its no big deal for 1 day.

you should already be using a timer to make sure your setup turns on and off at the same time everyday

not every set up/growroom is suitable for a timer.
not everyone can cover up thier windows or any other light leaks and therefore need to put a cover on things.
i have never used one in my years of growing.

i meant that i hadnt thought of maybe he was using hps, i figured he was using cfls like i did/do
either way if you are running any kind of lighting system using lots of voltage passing through a timer then you have to use the correct type of timer wired with a contactor.

go back and read what it says in the links i posted on timers and contactors and you will understand.
if they are not set up right the timers usually melt and the lights go out and its also a fire hazzard and thats why i dont use them.
