so instead of 5 gallon buckets, i used 10 inch pots. Well now I'm getting ready to move to 5 gallon buckets. The only problem is i have 8 plants, and i cant fit all of them into this space in 5 gallon buckets, becuase 5 gallon buckets are 11 1/2'' in diameter. My question is: is there a bucket or container that is as deep as a 5 gal, but a little bit smaller in diameter? is there a better solution in general? How much yield would i be sacraficing if I stick with the 10''?

I Dont know. that's why i asked. I was just curious if anyone knew of any type of large bucket or bag that was less than or equal to 10 inches in diameter.

look up "The perfect pot" or "rose Buckets"

Those are sort of what you're looking for...narrow, tall, lot of gallonage.

You would think they could make the diameter smaller and increase the height to get the same holding compacity.

Yeah I was hoping I should get some tall skinny pots, but apparently they just dont make them.. So. 5 gal bags are my choice. And they're fuckin DIRT cheap! I see i can get them online, but what about from home depot or walmart? Also where can I get a large quantity of soil for a decent price.. Soil can get expensive as shit, man...

Craig's list. Hella pots for sale where I'm at. For soil, I guess it depends what kind you're looking for. I went to my local garden store and got a huge bag of Foxfarm Ocean for $16.00. Homedepot has some pretty hefty bags of soil, but their selection is pretty limited.
