DAMN BIG BUDZ Grow Journal

DUDE. I tried 2 grows before this but I skimped on the money and so as an end result I skimped on the product. So I have saved up and conducted MONTHS of research on this AMAZING site, in order to do this the right way...

AND SO IT BEGINS

I have a 4x8x7 SUN HUT Tent running a cool tubed (cool tube is purchased and 2 days away!!!) 1000 watt hps. The closet serves as both my propagation and vegging chamber. I have 5 feminized Aurora Indica Seeds and 5 feminized Urban poison seeds. The AI sprouted a little earlier than the UP so that is whats in the sprite cans in the picture.

The closet has 2.... 2 lamp 4ft T5's and just a regular 4ft shop light with plant bulbs for the top.

I will be collecting clones before each strain continues on to the flowering chamber, so as to continue these awesome strains without purchasing more seeds

I honestly thought about doing aeroponics but couldn't justify the investment without someone there to instruct me on how to start and run such an awesome contraption, soooooo here we are with Foxfarm Ocean Forest CAUSE I HEARD ITS THE SHIT

I have 4 AI's HOPEFULLY getting ready to sprout and will update pictures and stuff when they sprout AND/OR my cool tube and filter and all that other shit gets here.

also the plant in the picture is a leftover plant from my first grow. It is the only kind of its strain on the planet and I HOPE TO GOD ITS A FEMALE. all the others died and its name is fred. anyone know why the newest leaves are lighter colors than the rest of the plant?

ohhh ok so those are fluorescent lights leaning against the wall.
whats the fan you plan on using?

I see hydro in your avatar why are you doing soil now or are you automating feeds?

yeah that was my second grow, where the plant in the picture (fred) started from. I had a tank made out of a rubbermaid with 2 ft long air stones running FF grow big and they all developed root rot and i couldn't save them So since I was investing in lights and all the different little things you never account for when you make your list I chose to do soil cause it was safer (lame I know).

I have 2 425 cfm inline fans on the way with a 6 inch flange carbon filter. I plan on hooking the filter up to one end of the cool tube and a fan on the other end to pull air out of the room and away from the 1k HPS. the other fan will push air in.

Yeah my second grow was with hydro but they all developed root rot and died except for fred lol. i have 2 435cfm fans on the way my plan is to hook the filter up to one end of the cool tube and a fan on the other end pulling air out of the tent. then the other pushing air in.

nice if you have a carbon filter another alternative setup would be to isolate the cooltube by running a duct from outside to the cooltube then to the fan exhaust for the cooltube and running a regular exhaust with the second fan sucking air through the filter and pushing it out of the tent. or pushing through the filter out of the tent.

So im sitting at 90% germination rate right now (WHEW) All 5 AI's cracked and 4 UPS's did as well. waiting on that last urban poison.....

Threw up some mylar in the "VEGG" part thought it would help the T5's.

Still waiting on the cooltube and filter and all my other goodies.

I SAW THE MOST HORRIBLE THING TODAY
my friend grows for just himself (pretty much, you know how it goes) and yesterday was harvest day for his 3 plants. So he took a branch that had a pretty decent sized bud at the end and a couple little sites AND PUT IT IN A BUCKET OF PURPLE FOOD COLORING AND WATER.

then set it back in the grow room for a day AND HOLY FUCK THE PLANT SUCKED UP ALL THE FOOD COLORING AND HAD PURPLE TRICHOMES AND LEAVES. it looked completely awesome and legit. but he said that someone caught him one time and they demanded some of his crop so he sticks his shit in the food coloring and then sends the whole branch to him.

The dude thinks he is getting the most organic purple knockout shit of his life, and my dude doesnt have to worry about him.

FOR ALL WHO ARE WONDERING, I couldnt resist and had to try some...... IT TASTES LIKE SHIT burns fine, looks fine but the food coloring saturates the bud and turns it nasty.

THOUGHTS? do you think it would be possible to add A LITTLE BIT and retain flavor? to increase bag appeal? it seems like a cheap trick and i'm not personally going to taint my buds with that but to each his own.......

TRUE this tent does have 4 passive air intakes. do you think that the fan running the filter can create enough of a vacuum to properly use these? cause the cooler that cool tube the closer it can get CORRECT?

So I have 4 Aurora Indica sprouts!! but those damn urban poison wont pop.... i'll give them another day before I take them in the back and beat them till jesus comes back.


for now i'll keep smoking my reggie nasty mexican dirt weed joints and dream of tasty buds

OK so I have 8 sprouts and the last UP seed FINALLY CRACKED.

I finally got in touch with the people who were supposed to send me some shit and apparently the fans I ordered are on back order SO THEY HELD UP THE WHOLE ORDER AND DIDNT SEND ME ANYTHING. makes sense, BUT IT STILL SUCKS.

Where did you get your seeds from?

NIRVANA. They took 14 days to get here but they were packaged in a wallet.

if anyone is watching. I have 9 sprouts with a very hopeful last, so I might have all 10 sprout. THAT WOULD BE AWESOME, I honestly didn't expect them all to make it but nirvana pulled through.

Very frustrating, I found a hydo shop in my town and I totally drove 2+ hours 1 way for some of the stuff I bought. He was totally unlisted with no phone number and not anywhere on google though. Just some old guy with lights, nutrients, SOIL pretty much EVERYTHING

Fred is still doing very well and is starting to so HER sex. yep it is indeed a girl I think im still gonna try getting away with calling her fred though lol.

The very last things for my flowering tent are being shipped tomorrow morning, so I expect to open them on Friday of next week.

I will continue to update when I see growth, I promise lots of pics!

-One female of each strain will be held back in the vegg chamber as mothers. BUT as many clones as nicely possible will be taken from ALL before the others continue.

I would be overjoyed if I got a full pound (ALTHOUGH I KNOW IT IS NOT FEASIBLE) so I will expect no lower than a 1/2 pound. (Do you think I can get 2 oz. from every plant under a cool tubed 1000watt HPS?)

ALL 10 SEEDS SPROUTED. They started drinking way to much water in those cans so I transplanted them into their final containers (did I do this to early? FEEDBACK PLEASE!) They are vegging under a 1000watt MH until they grow a little bit and then I'll throw them back in the closet under the T5's.

ARRRGGHHHHHH!!!!! My cool tube and stuff is taking too long and I really feel like they are giving me the run around. I did not account for this when I started my time frame, I will be better prepared next time.

Now I begin waiting and watching. I will update again when my shit gets here and show everyone the growth. Ill prolly honestly start a new thread cause no one is watching this any more.
