They tell you that amber was a good thing based on the old Sats that were around in the 60's and 70's. I am old so I knew about it and spent years finding it and breedin it back into several strains. When Indicas came into the picture in the 80's and hybrids took over the amber thing was lost. But does still exist genetically in old school Sats

To say that AMBER is bad is simply parroting forum misinformation that has been spread around for years. The report I posted the link to is the actual report that created the amber misunderstanding in the first place.

If you read the ACTUAL report, you would know it says BROWN ,,,, not AMBER

b. Effect of gland age on cannabinoid content
We also examined cannabinoid content of stalked gland by age to measure the major cannabinoid components in both a fiber and drug strain (Table 2). Glands, viewed under a microscope, can be classified according to their secretory phases from the color of their contents. Glands most active in secretion (mature) are translucent in appearance, aged glands are yellow in appearance and senescent glands are brown in color. Mature glands possessed the highest content of their major cannabinoid in both the fiber and drug strains. Senescent glands possessed low levels of cannabinoids. The concentration of some components, as CBD in the drug strains, may be so low that is was not detectable in our analysis; similarly, for THC and CBN in the fiber strain. It is unknown where the cannabinoids go during the aging process, but we suggest that it is possible they volatilize into the atmosphere along with the terpenes in glands, as noted later in this report. Nevertheless, this phenomenon of altered content in glands during aging is one that should be studied to gain a more complete understanding of the secretory process of cannabinoids in the cell.

Yes, I have bred over 50 strains. I just created one that knocks you out with one hit, literally you pass out like 20 minutes after toking it LOL Only 3 people have smoked it but same thing happened to all 3 of us. I called it The Beast as it was growing. I think I named it right LOL

Oh, I know HIGHEST THC POSSIBLE is like the fad of inexperiences smokers....
I learned about 30 years ago, that thc isnt the be all end all of buds, otherwise I would just smoke hash/oil all the time.

It is all about the cannabinoids for me. So once again, you have a preferance, others do to, just because you like Rockyroad icecream doesnt mean the entire world has to do what you do.....
Dude...
I am sorry however you seem to have a disconnect with reality.
Degraded MJ makes you sick, you could not possibly like degraded pot.
However, you are advocating to novice growers, whom cant tell when their plants are 'finished' to let them go DEGRADED . That is wrong.
It's your opinion, that your degraded MJ tastes good, it couldn't. Because it's degraded. So, i think, you are not seeing what you think you see.
I think, you see your buds under a yellowish light [HPS/etc] and the clear Trichomes are shining slightly amber in color.

Think of it this way:

You on purpose degrade 10-15% of your pot....
Think about that...
If you grow four ounces per year... you will have around a 1/2 ounce that you will have to throw away...
IT'S DEGRADED, it will make you sick, Novices, don't do it.

I grow healthy plants
They do not ever degrade
I do not ever pull leaves, because a dead leaf is a degraded leaf, and my plants stay healthy until the day I harvest, no degrade. No Yellow, just a healthy plant.
As I said, get experience, learn, and listen to your plant, and above all, don't be an idiot, or listen to them.

Looking and checking Trichomes is a fun past time. Once you understand your plants, you do not need to check, your plants will talk to you....

My only goal when growing any type of plant is to make it as green and healthy [no brown/yellow], a green plant = healthy big buds...

Have a nice day
