Don't feel bad for them though, they get to relocate to the 75gal.

what lighting are you using for those aquatic plants?......great pics

48" T5 HO 4 bulb. Was a cheap ebay light. I only run two bulbs. Gueismann aquablue + and I think it gueismann midday or a 10k.
I like my light on the bluer spectrum.

Gave the girls their first ferts last night (Day 11)

10 ml buddha grow
5ml ancient amber
mosquito dunk (fuck you gnats)
10ml trinity.

no point in adding oregoinismx since I topdressed with some cinnamon. it would just kill it off.

I topped the Chocolope and purple wreck.

I think I will let purple haze and hawiian go a bit longer before I do.

Purple haze... I take it I have a indica heavy pheno. Interesting center structure

Not sure if I should top this one or not.

no i would FIM caefully, that is actually a sativa trait i can show you later i will throw a pic up of some mexican sativas, i had one of them i Fimmed and one i did not side by side for the exact same reason your asking yourself right now, because both had that center structure the one i fimmed grew like i wanted, the one i did not sat for a few days looking like yours, then took off at the top.

DSCI1753 - Copy.jpg

fim on right but you get the idea those branches have been that size since they formed, the other on the right expanded much better. same time same nutes, same evertrhing down to the genetics :) just a fim vs no fim.

I FIM-ed as suggested.. altho i don't really get the difference between topping and FIM. I mean I know you leave some of the leaf material but other than that what's the difference?

Group shot of the girls while I was in the TV

Lil baby titty twisters. pm if you wan't grow journal link (off site)

_MG_8753_zpsb791ef73.jpg

well if you did it correctly your top will grow back like mine did. i guess it kinda looks topped in th pic with the leaves blocking and all but there are normal fan leaves that actually about 2-3 nodes above where i fimmed. if you fim correcly the little leaf area you cut will continue to grow after a while if you did it wrong it will shrivel up and die and just be a topped plant. fimming does take practice but once you get it down youll find yourself fimming all over the place.

Ok, so it basically just slows the growth but doesn't stop it completely unless done wrong. I guess that makes sense. And possibly the plant sends growth hormones to repair the damaged leaf structure causing a surge in lower growth as well.

Wen't to water the babies this morning and noticed somethings been having its way with them.

_MG_8762_zps7350388e.jpg

Saw a small brown lump on a leaf so I touched it and it smeared. Another one took off running. So I grabbed the babies and looked them over. Two of them have these little bastards on them.

_MG_8761_zpsc4489616.jpg

Bigger and faster than I was lead to believe spider mites where. So any ideas? I checked over the plants vegging next to them and didn't see any signs of these bastards.

You better nip these bastards fast.............their not funny like gnats:P

I got a positive ID on them from the other forum. Winter grain mites. Looked over my girls really good while spraying them down with neem and didn't see any signs of them. Just the seedlings. But, I did spray the other plants down several weeks ago so they may of just been avoiding them. Probably came in with my white worm culture (feed to fish). They usually have some kind of mite or another in them.

i do reccomend supplementing a few cfls, for a carbon scrubber i used a diy blueprint to make one with 2 pc fans for intake and outtake worked great only ran me about 20 bux compared to 100+

Moved chocolope, purple wreck, purple haze and the hawaiin bagseed into 3 gal pots and moved up to flower room. Tittie twisters got moved up to 1 gal pots and took thier place. Havent seen any more of those mites so thats good. I'll just have to keep a eye out.

Day 17 veg

Titties where off to a slow start but now that they are in their pots and under the LED they are finally starting to take off.

Been having PH issues across the board in the gardens. Still trying to nail down my soil mix. New Kelway PH probe works great. PH 6.3 so I'm getting there.

Entire outside of my home is covered in those mites. I sprayed the hell out of ortho home defense around all my doors, windows and baseboards. Inside the grow neem oil has been keeping them at bay.
