Thanks guys, things have really turned out great this run. It feels good to be able to put some nice pics up for you guys, and of course to be able to help some peeps get some primo medicine.

On a side note, I quit my job yesterday because I was tired of working 6 days / 60+ hours a week. So hopefully the next run comes out really good too cause daddy needs a new pair of shoes! lol

With that in mind, today is the day I have to gear up for the next run and get things started since I've put them off for too long already from all these hours I've been working. So this morning I took 23 top cuts off of the 2 moms that I had been keeping, which ended up taking almost a foot off the top of the moms. Thank god, cause I let these hoes grow too big as it is already! Normally I take my cuts from the bottom branches, but this time I just really had to lower these moms down some before things got out of hand. They were about 3' tall before I took the cuts, and about 26" afterward.

I also usually water with plain distilled for a week before taking cuts to lower the level of N as it helps the cuts focus on rooting rather than growing vegetatively. Once again, I've been so busy with work that I just didn't have time to mix up additional plain distilled in the week prior so they got fed with all the goodies and are green as hell. So this will be a bit of an experiment to see how much N really affects the clones taking root, and if it is a mandatory action that needs to be taken before the cloning process starts. These girls were GREEN, and thus should prove or disprove this theory one way or the other without a doubt. The rest of my cloning methods were standard and should be effective.

This time I tried something new...Hygrozyme! Mixed up water for soaking the Rapid Rooter plugs, spritzing, and watering the cuts in the days to come using distilled water Ph'd to 6.5 with 6 milliliters of Hygrozyme and a quarter teaspoon of Superthrive per gallon of distilled. Soaked the plugs, put in tray, took cuts on a 45 degree, dipped and spun in Roottech cloning gel, and inserted into the plugs. Sprayed all clones down with the same distilled mix, put on the humidity dome, and threw em in the dark for their first 12 - 24 hrs. Then it's a 24 hour photoperiod until they root after that. They'll end up in 18/6 for veg when roots are established.

Here's a few pics. I thought about doing a tutorial thread about this on the side, but ehh, there's like a million tutorials on cloning already. So I just snapped a few along the way to toss on here.

Thanks man. Yeah, I was unemployed a while last year too but I was getting unemployment benefits ($400.00/wk) to sit on my ass and watch the plants grow. THAT was the bomb. Too bad I gotta hustle up my own scratch this time! lol I saved some funds and have another crop coming off in 2 more weeks so things should be alright. No more big ballin' though for a while, that's for sure.

great clone advice my brother, makes sense 12-24hrs dark before light. mine always initially droop due to heat stress from light, this would correct that. good luck on everything, but you don't need it, you'll be fine. if you handle life anything like you handle your grows.....

maybe you can integrate your growing skills into a new legal career???

Looking good......
Thanks. Yeah, I dream of somehow making a legal living with my green thumb, but so far I haven't really come up with anything good enough to run with yet. So far the best things I've heard are vending your excess back to a co-op if you live in CA, or in OR you can have up to 24 ozs dry if you're a cardholder so if you keep your grow on track you could easily just sell the excess in eights and quarters if you know people, especially other cardholders.

when you say 12-24 hrs without light for freshly cut clones, do you mean 12 to 24 hrs err what? lol sorry kinda confused and high bongsmilie but Im just so clone illiterate and really want the next clones i take to have strong viable roots.

thanks in advanced dc

Yeah, I cut and dip em and then mist em down good and put em in total darkness for 12 - 24 hrs. The first day of darkness allows them to kinda soak in the rooting gel and start putting together roots rather than trying to grow foliage vegetatively.

yep.

No need for light when the plants are using stored energy ;)..... your just getting the hormonal reaction to occur, which it does typically in the first 24 hrs. Then just a little light to sustain the plants energy levels until it has developed roots and is ready to grow :) (requiring ever more light ;) ).

Got a few more pics...tried to take a few with the lights ON for once. A couple of budshots, HB and then SS. A couple of pics of the clones. And a pic of my new secret weapon...synthetic urine! lol Not going to try to quit smoking again like I did last year. Last year I quit smoking for 25 days straight and failed a piss test on the 25th day. That was WITH doing all the extra stuff we do to detox our bodies the whole month leading up to the test. I smoke a LOT of really good herb, so much apparently that it never completely leaves my body and therefore quitting for 2-3 months is just not an option. So this time I said fuck that and spent $106.00 on 2 vials/kits with heat packs and temp strips which I think is a great investment! Gotta get a job sometime, but don't want to quit smoking either!
