CXA3590 Build Plan

I would take his advice. More emitters driven softly not only have a raw efficiency bonus. But they also score big points in distribution (more over lapping circles).

Plus, the lamp will outlast the drivers several times over with minimal spectral shift or lumen depreciation
Or I can run them at 85C and 150w, if I damn well please. I think this is the difference in Americans, the ones that are not lost to Political Correctness that is.

You guys are not listening. I am trying to MATCH the power consumption of HPS.
No, it's you that isn't listening to us. If you want a 1000w led light that's fine. However you should configure it in such a way that it excedes the efficiency of a hps bulb. Otherwise you'll simply be spending more for the same result.

In other words why only build it to be 40% efficient? If money is no object why not build it to be 50% effecient or better? If money is a concern, then why not simply buy much cheaper hps bulbs until the finances are there to build a much better light.

I mean, that's your prerogative. Just seems like a waste to only get the bare minimum out of your components.

It is pretty much impossible to match HPS efficacy with high power LEDs and COBs.

Achieving an equivalent DC flux with LEDs compared to HPSs with its low low CRI is an electrifying concept, especially when you consider the much much improved spectrum you can give your babies

When the summer sun shines through our atmosphere plants receive the highest CRI light or you could say the least filtered. During winter months is where the the suns rays pass more on an angle with the earth, dropping the CRI to a lower point. I dont know the figures of exactly how much filtering is happening but I do feel plants have adapted to use this at least as a slight trigger to know when to start producing flowers, thus maximizing our beloved THC production bongsmilie

Why settle for less than you could get out of your expensive components?
You guys go question the neighbor's dog how about? I'm done explaining to hard head trolls who are not listening, but enjoy having an argument.

You don't have to read this thread, since it offends your ego somehow.

Take a break, but don't insist I do it you're way.. That's not rude in Canada, any more?

Figures.

You clearly lack any logical thought processes. I'll leave you to you're expensive status symbol.

See? You are making the big mistake of thinking I'm someone who cares what you think.

You don't have the money, I get it. And you are preaching Green Earth and Climate Change not doubt.

I am not in that Choir.

You remind me of the day to day comments I get about my motorcycle. I took a big one and added horsepower.

Why? Because I can. Because I want to.

Go practice your Gaia, somewhere else. :)

You don't get it. You're the one settling for less. You could add 30 extra horse power and get more out of your bike if you spent a little more money. I'm not trying to convince you to do it 'my way' I'm simply trying to help you get the most out of the money you're spending. It's like spending money on an expensive exhaust and intake, but not bothering to re-tune the ECU to make it scream.

OK, on to Veg.

Stick with basic design to throw high watts without bulbs and ballast, reflectors and other hassles.

I broke into my engine computer first thing. You and church are way out in Implementation Left Field.
This is design phase.

Are you an LED sales rep or something? I enjoy absolutely wasting money. Do you?
Honestly, i simply prefer to get the best available. High end photon delivery at any expense. However I want to get my moneys worth or im not going to waste my time

Softly driven cobs are the best followed by high end hid. Anything less isn't worth my valuable time. Running cobs hard doesn't make logical sense.

OK so what are you suggesting? Anything mathematically, at all?

What the hell are you trolling me for, if your time is so valuable.

Make a point. WIder sink? More COBs? You really are just barking.
