Cutting Tips of the center fan leaf...

I have seen someone saying they cut about 1/3 of the center leaf on the fan leafs off/ (the tip). what does this do if anything?

When cloning, it's good to cut 1/3 of the leaf off, so the energy is concentrated for root growth.

With regular plants, I see no botanical reason for that to occur.

I thought so as well. I was aware about doing this to cloned plants, but then I heard someone say they were doing to on outdoor plants and I kept wondering if I missed the memo lol thanks a lot!

For cloning it tells it to stop being so lazy and grow some roots.
