just wondering if its in anyway beneficial or just cosmetic to the plant.
I'm reading with amazement that people would tell you to leave a dead tip on a leaf. Truly amazing. As with any other plant, if a portion of a leaf is dead, dying or diseased, you may cut the tip(s) off. I cut off the dead portion and just a bit of the green so the leaf will quit trying to recover or repair the tips. I think it is more cosmetic, but dead organic material does indeed attract insects. You are not harming the plant or stunting it by cutting off already dead material.just wondering if its in anyway beneficial or just cosmetic to the plant.
To provide more energy towards the new growth, to aid in air circulation under the canopy. Selective pruning IS beneficial regardless of what you might read elsewhere.why do growers prune off the lower branches then?
