Cutting half the plant off

Hi, the top half of my plants buds are ready to harvest, but the lower half buds could use some more grow time. I was wondering if its ok to cut the top half off to dry them and keep the bottom half still growing. I dont want to risk killing it, but i wanna get some bud lol

I hear about people doing this all the time. I'm pretty sure it works, harvest the top and let the lower ones go another week or w/e.

YEAH. Actually alot of growers do this, Go ahead, the rest of the buds will continue to ripen.
I did the same. Good luck, and give us a smoke report later.

Yeah, I have been doing this for years. It's the best way to harvest a bigger plant.

I was curious about this too. I just tried it for the first time recently and it seemed to work well. Cut off the top branches that had the more mature buds and let the lower branches go for another 5-10 days. It seemed to work. I didn't get a ton more but the buds definitely liked the extra light. Its like any fruit plant. You don't cut down your whole tomato plant when you see the first ripe red tomato. You cut them down as they each mature individually. Same goes for weed. It would take forever if you cut down one bud at a time though so id recommend cutting down the top branches from the main stem and work your way down. Good luck!
