Cut Fan Leaves for Fuller Buds?

Hi guys, I've been growing for decades but thought about something that I am not sure of.

I have never trimmed the fan leaves in the flowering stage and wondered if it's wise in order to get more sunlight to the buds. I have had some issues with bud rot as well since I live in a humid area.

Part of me thinks that those big ass leaves help nurture the plant, and therefore bud development. BTW, I am an outdoor guerilla farmer...it kinda sucks.

I should already know this, but you know what they say about know-it-alls. They're the ones who don't!!

Peace, love, nugs and frisbees! :leaf:

Leave them on. You sound just like my dad also a grower for many years. He says to take em all off but thats not good at all. Leave them i swear its better.:weed:

I figure the plant knows where it needs a leaf better than I do.

Great responses gents. I will just have to stay on top of my bud rot potential. I have this Hawaiian strain from bag seed, and there isn't much air in the colas. And we never have any wind here to blow out moisture.

So I guess I need to take a hair dryer down to my baby every morning to blow the dew off.... LOL.

I have mixed feelings about pinching fan leaves. For some reason people like to prune, we prune everything so it just natural to want to clip some leaves
