Custom Pc Grow Room - Advice?

Hi, I'm a newbie on the site and I want to build my custom pc grow room.
This is going to be my 1st ever grow :-P

I'll be buying all the stuff on Monday so I will list all the things below and you just give me some comments, advices etc.,

NZXT Phantom Pc case "DIMENSIONS (W x H x D)" : 22.2cm x 54cm X 62.3cm
Mylar Tape
5m Of Mylar Sheeting
Sensi Bloom - Advanced Nutrients A&B 1L
24 Hour Grasslin Analogue Timer
Envirolite CFL Light Socket Cord Set
250W Envirogrow 8U CFL Blue Lamp

I've got the Temperature and Humidity Meter (don't know what is called exacly lol)
Friend of mine has got pH tester things.

Questions are:

The case has got 7 fans and I don't know which ones I should be turning on. Advice?
Is there any other way to get the fans working without using phone adaptors?
Do I need anything else?
Also is Auto Snowryder a good strain to start with?

Thanks for everything ;)
I'll be making a journal when everything is set up.

Hello PatPat,

As with proper cooling of any computer, I'd imagine you would want to maintain a balance of the same number of intake and exhaust fans. You would probably also want the air movement to push in from the front, and pull out the back. I would probably ignore/block any fan inlets on the side panel.

Other ways to get the fans working? Sure! Go buy an actual power supply and motherboard. LOL... just kidding, don't do that. DC phone adapters are definitely your best bet. You can get a hold of some cheap adapters, splice off the charging tip, and splice in the power wires from the fans. Check eBay for those cheap adapters. If it's got a 12v output, and can charge a cell phone, it should probably work just fine for powering an 80mm fan, or possibly even two per adapter. If you try and do two per, you'll want to compare their air volumes with just one per to see if it is similar enough, because using two per halves the amperage of course. Use electrical tape on the exposed wires when spliced so that they don't short on each other, the mylar sheeting, or the PC chassis.

I don't think I can help you with your other questions, but good luck friend! Cheers!

Cheers mr.bond I will deffo look it up on ebay. Ive got 2 phone chargers but they are only 5v :/
I'm just wondering if the case is big enough to grow in?

This is all the fans:

FRONT: 1 x 140mm
REAR: 1 x 120mm
SIDE: 2 x 120mm, 1 x 200/230
TOP: 2 x 200mm
So you're saying I should only use the front and rear fans?

Use just only the Rear and front one, anyway i think you really need to use them phone charger shit, i did it yesterday with my two fans and it worked... Is easy to wire them together.

what kind of pot/container and soil do you plan on using.

I just finished a pc grow and I feel a lot of my success was because I had a large rectangle pot that fit well in the computer. it can be tricky to find a perfect growing container for a pc grow.

Hey PatPat,

Yeah I would only run the front and rear fans. Balanced airflow is better than massive airflow. Trying to run a top fan sounds dangerous once the plant gets a bit taller if you know what I'm saying. :) If the leaves start to get near the rear fan, you can use a cheap fan grille on the inside to protect the blades. And of course to maintain proper airflow, make sure you seal any other open fan vents (top, side, etc.). You can do this with your mylar or reflective tape.

Also, get that middle hard drive cage out of there. LOL The more room the merrier.

Sure man. I'm gutted because i can't get a grow on the go until like the 10th of December cos I am away for a holiday :D
Although I'm certainly happy that I can get away from the snow for a decent week :)

yeah dont use a round pot.

if you want to increase your yield

Go to walmart and get a plastic tub used for storing shoes (these will fit perfect in a PC) then spray paint the outside of it black and poke lots and lots of holes in the bottom.

3 liters is going to be tough to flower in go with the shoebox

So almost all of my stuff has arrived.
In fact the only thing that's missing is the light.
I got 2 fem auto blue himalaya freebies with my 5 fem auto snowryders.
I found a bigger pc case on internet so i decided bigger is better eh?

Oh I gotta watch this happen!! I would've never thought to grow plants inside something like that!!! So fucking mint man! I absolutely love the ingenious, individual ideas that potheads come up with to grow their own shit. Fucking deadly. Also this auto-flower this has got me half hard. I live where the growing season outdoor is short and that auto-flower is a beautiful thing right now. Also super cool for something like this PC grow man. I read on this site today or yesterday a guy who does autos just runs his lights 24 hours on always. Quick growth I guess!! Although my 2 cents is that plants need a rest and do continue to grow in the dark. Anyways, I'm subbed up and can't wait to check it out dude!! Get 'em germinating!
