I'm of the mind of self-sufficiency, why buy a plant from a dude for a ridiculous cost, when i can flipping grow my own?! Thats my motivation. It's interesting, every grower has their own reason.

I had a friend in England, she had to stop smoking for a bit. Apparently all the bud going around had been dipped in either Silica sand or Silica solution, to bulk the weight of the buds. People smoked it, inhaled silica dust/sand and proceeded to cough up blood and be rushed to the hospital. Stories like that and yours, all the more reason to just fucking grow it.

the only way to get real true pot is by homegrown im convinced. anyways good for you standing by what you believe when it comes to your little grow haha. as for the speed control knobs i cant help you there i got no idea how all that works ill pop over to your thread now and take a look.



SEEDS ARE NOW IN POTS HOPING FOR SPROUTS IN THE NEXT DAY!!!!!

saw the tent shack commented looks beautiful sir!!!

news on the girls all four have sprouted one of the wonder women came up as two sprouts so we will see what happens there but the la women is the biggest of them all kicking ass and yah sprout leaves and one set of fan leaves on all thats visible at the moment

AWESOME! get some pics of the little ladies up soon. I'll be about 4 weeks behind you in my grow. congrats on the bizarre double sprout.. maybe congrats. we'll see how that pans out.

this will be interesting, i'm also using Flora Nova, what soil are you using? I'm planning on FF Ocean Forest. What size pots are those? I still haven't picked any up!

using flora nova aswell eh? this competition will be very interesting. im using dutch treat soil i got it from my local grow store. and they are going to be in 1 gallon pots the whole grow.

i plan on doing some liquid seaweed and superthrive early on, during seedling stage, supposed to work wonders for root development. also got the full run down on molasses finally. apparently molasses does not sweeten or carbo load the plant. what it does do however, is feed microbes living in your soil, they get a snack and munch on the pure sugar of the molasses. in return the waste product from those microbes is easily absorbed by the root system. this is why its popular during flush/ripening, gets that last little "umpf"from the soil before harvest. (just finished a green garden management course in my landscape design program, picked up a lot of helpful info hehe)

so i'm using seaweed/superthrive in seedling stage, FN Grow and Bloom, and then flushing with molasses.

DAMN I WISH IT WAS FREAKING NOVEMBER!! after the holiday i have no other travel plans, so thats why the long wait, don't want to start and leave the girls unattended for a weekend. even with an auto-waterer lol (which btw didn't work out, it created a siphon effect and water kept dripping until she was empty, LONG after the air pump shut off.

too much jibba jabba to follow there?

jeez write a book why dont ya? haha naw its all good shacky boy your plans sounds great i have some superthrive maybe ill give it a run or so? but yah the whole grow will be interesting im curious to see what the flowering stage will be like with those huge cfls i havent seen much flowering done with them so itll be interesting to say the least. im sorry to hear you cant start your plants yet either way our proof will be in our threads and we can compare notes and eventually compare our final weigh ins.

Here is a plant just starting to show flower using large CFL's. Pics are about a week old or so now. But gives you an idea, and shows you can flower with large CFL's. Also, thats just a side bud. I can't reach the top buds to snap a pic. Too tall, but they do look much nicer. I'll have to get more pics for ya soon. Anyway, still subscribed and can't wait to see ya get started. those buds are coming along nicely there smoke. i take it your using multiple large cfls? you think with LST and keeping a nice even canopy one 1 will be enough for that little of a space? and more pics are always welcome!

Thanks DW ! Ya, I use a few, but I grow out large plants trying to increase yield. Like I said, I can't reach the tops. Bigger the plants, more lights I need. With your plan and setup, you'll be fine. Maturesmoker on this site has grown some killer NL bud using just 300 watts of CFLs (smaller ones, but same idea) so I am positive you'll be good to go.

If you could squeeze in a small 6500k light during flower (when you put in the big 250w 2700k) you would benefit from it. The 2700k light for flower makes the buds grow and swell, but that 6500k bulb will make the plant create more trichomes. Has something to do with a UVB ray that is in the 6500k spectrum. Maybe just a 42w 6500k or something. If not, its not a big deal. You can still grow super potent, killer buds.

This is a great set up. I love it and am considering modifying my setup after my current grow has completed. I really do love the fan set up and how well constructed this cabinet is set up!

thanks man! i will have new pics up come wednesday and i think you will all be pretty stoked i know i am just watching them first hand. they seem to be right on track for the upcoming one week mark.
