Current thinking on when to chop?

So I recently found the article from lie 10 years ago that was in High Times about a researcher, Dr. Paul G. Mahlberg, who found that THC is at highest potency when the trichomes are still clear and are starting to degrade when they start getting cloudy. In my previous 4 grows (outdoors), I always waited until I had about 10% to 20% brown/amber and the majority of the rest cloudy. Does anyone harvest when they are still clear? What is the current science on when to harvest?

part n part. i harvest early most times but leave a few to go full term. the early ones are more of a racy high and the ones that are left have more CBN in them, thats the stuff that gives you that sleepy feeling.
the best growers go by looks of the bud and know when iots at its peek potancy, pay attention to the look of the bud next time you get some killer weed, pay attention to the size of the sacks the red hairs are growing out of, the hairs start receding back into the swollen sacks almost and theres more amber then stated in most images.
im sure there will be plenty of growers offering ther opinions , so you will get more info as the day go's on
