Current culture 6xl, torn cmh vs g8

Hi folks, just finished up the first run and thanks to all that helped esp Hotrod, your a true gentleman sir!

So I am designing my next run and learning still. I have decided on the current culture 6 xl in a gorilla 5x5 shorty ( shorty due to temp height restrictions). Already have the co2 setup for this run as well.

I have 2 phantom works 315 cmhs.. they did great but I was constantly running the dehumidifier and a/c

I was pulling just over 1000 watts from the wall. So after the traditional "reading and reading" I am thinking of upgrading the lights as well

Torn between just keeping the two I have , or taking advantage of the 20% at dormgrow.com

The lights are expensive but I signed my spouse up as an affiliate and she gets 8% per order through the affiliate program so we are looking at 28% off :) (use this trick people)

The g8 600 (pulls 390w compares to 1000hps results, i didnt believe it (but the proof is out there) are great and the g8 900 (pulls 540 watts from the wall) is even better (40% stronger). I would assume no need for a/c and should help with humidity battling so I should pull the same from the wall with much better lighting intensity.

also, I am looking to purchase two leds to replace the two cmhs possibly

Plant...........Plant............Plant
..........Light............Light...............
Plant...........Plant............Plant

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated (constructive please)

540w or 390w are not going to be sufficient for a 25sqf space. You need at least 30 watts of high efficiency leds per square foot, but 35w per sqf is recommended.

At 540 watts, that fixture will provide 21.6, that's 38% less than recommended so you should keep in mind that you'd be expecting a 38% less than optimal result. And that's assuming that those lights really put out the light they promise. They don't state umol/joule anywhere...

You're going to need something like this:

https://timbergrowlights.com/fatty-vs/

That's a 900W light... With some research you could find something cheaper maybe, or maybe make your own lights out of 4 foot strips and save tons of money if you're handy.

But honestly, i can't recommend the grow light you're planning to buy for that space.

PAR Value of 1540μMol/m2/s,

Ok thank you .. I didnt mention I would be buying 2 lights to replace my 2 cmhs if I go this route .. to set in between the 6 plants..

Plant...........Plant............Plant
..........Light............Light...............
Plant...........Plant............Plant

Than i would add the red g8 flower booster at each end and the middle if they need extra ..but I'll check your suggestion niq..I'm hoping between Friday and Monday there will be some good deals

Rather than dumping money on that I’d look to hlg or timber. It would be a better light than what your looking at. Also if you had to cool roughly 677 watts of cmh you’ll have to cool the 540 or however much of led and will need to run a dehumidifier all the same if not more. Honestly I’d stick with what you have.

When things sound too good to be true its usually because they are. It should take around 800w to replace 1200w of HPS.

You just finished your first run... Get another 5 under your belt before changing everything in your grow at the same time.
Its very easy to chase the dream of something better but dialling in what you already have will probably give better results than throwing money at it.

Bth, in a sealed room, your dehu/ac is going to run a hefty amount unless you are running air cooled lights. And even then they still run quite a bit, if it's an issue it might be more beneficial for you to look at ventilation first before deciding to switch lights up.
