Curing

Hello, I let me flowers dry from March 22 till April 4th. The bud felt dried out fairly & a big stem snapped. As I dry trimmed the buds, the moisture moved fairly quick and now they are back moisturized. I jarred them w a 62% Humidity package about on the 4th and the hay aroma is v strong when I open the jar. So I took the buds out placed them to dry a little longer. I also went out and bought a Acurite Humidity tested and let the sensor sit inside the jar for some hours and checked it. It read 69%. First grow and I’m really indecisive on what to do now... do I let them try out more or jar it ? :(

When you dried, where did you dry/hang them? How was the temp/humidity. That plays a major part of the dry process. Dry too long and you end up with that hay smell. Kind of hard to get rid of it if they dried too long. Typically shouldn’t take more than 7-8 days to dry. The main stem isn’t what you’re looking for to snap, it’s the stem the buds are connected to. I learned this the hard way and had about 4oz of hay weed. Still got you rather high, but that taste and aroma never came out, regardless of how long I let them cure. I got an idea of what they COULD have smelled like when I squeezed the bud, but it never hit it’s full potential.

All honest, I let them dry in my closet w thr temperature never surfacing over 79 really. Didn’t really check humidity much which is a fault by me & first growing. They seem super super moist and by time I finish dry cutting them, they were all sticky and moist again. Maybe I need to let them dry a little more

I always do the burn test. If I can't light it I sure as heck don't put it in a jar.
Yo! Crazy part is I actually smoked some of the dry trim and got a nice high from it out the bong. Tasted awful but it hadn’t been cured. It broke down fairly simple so idk. It doesn’t breakdown normal either
