Curing super dense flowers

I recently cut down tiger's milk ( highly recommended) by bodhi seeds and I had a small problem with mold in the interior of my larger cola buds. My question is; when drying super dense flowers do any of you drastically alter your drying techniques so that mold does not become an issue?

if you are finding mold in the center of those dense babies, they were probably there before the dry process...what was ur rh late in flower?

I cut the big colas into individual buds to dry. I had some dense colas that rotted in the middle during the
drying process.

I was thinking I might do that right from the start next time because I usually trim fan leaves when I harvest and do a secondary trim later on

No mess around with curing if you think they could be moldy, trim most leaves from the buds right after harvest, chop down the colas ,place in front of fan on high speed. You must dry the colas ASAP to stop mold which occurs more often than not while DRYING/CURING. Mold in buds is the worst thing you can sell to a buyer, you wont see him again.

If your getting mold I would think that the conditions you're drying in are too warm. Try lowering your drying temps for at least the beginning of drying. Also you might want to try lowering your humidity levels as well. The fan at high speed will work if you do it right but if not your bud is going to dry too fast and loose that good flavor and smell. The main thing for me is to dry slow enough that they smell good in the end but fast enough so you don't get mold. Hopefully this helps.
