curing question

The little buds i harvested early have been curing. Almost a week now.

My wife told me about her friend that used to put his buds in bags and wear them in his shoes to produce a more dense bud and help with the whole aroma by packing the buds up. Not sure. Does this make sense? Should i take my tiny nugs and little trim and press it togther for a few days and cure? Been trying this.......i think it makes the nugs look nice! and then are super dense. you gotta pick it off to get the actual bud and its nice and sticky.

no

but sure it releases aroma by rupturing trichs, the waxy shell holding terps and volatile esters.. it will smell stronger
but is that really what you want?
i prefer flavor. release all that "aroma" when i put a lighter to it and inhale

dense buds like that remind me of commercial harvests when in cure and packing pack the buds down.. not what i desire
but what do i know, i grow landrace sativa that are naturally airy

I accidentally stepped on some of my Sour Diesel buds the other day, not the first time for me while trimming :( Bruises the fruit and collapses the calyxs.

another good point i forgot to mention.
kudos

what actually happens to the bud itself. that bruising like with other plants releases chemicals not conducive to your cure.. as well as the terps and other oils breaking down the pplant
think brick weed that turns brown and quickly has no flavor

Bud during the curing process can have different smells as it cures. As long as it doesn't smell like hay and you didn't dry it too much you are continuing to cure.
