was wondering if anyone has Cured in tins such as cookie tins http://www.specialtybottle.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=25

and also glass jars or both .. any difference in curing time ? Taste ? Smell ?

I read an article in Treating yourself and his argument is that curing in tins is more forgivable because they are not totaly airtight and and are less prone to bud mold if say you went away for the weekend and forgot about your jars etc

Tin(Sn) will likely impart a 'tinny' taste to the buds, which is why it has largely been replaced by aluminum, which doesn't impart any metallic taste.

Tin will, but not all 'tins' are made from Sn(tin).

You can wrap a sandwich in actual tin foil in the morning, and by lunchtime the sandwich will have a tinny taste.

It's harder to notice in sweets than it is in more bland foods like breads, crackers, etc.

I reuse glass jam jars, pickle jars, olive jars, etc.... Basically free, I just put them in the dish washer before using them(not the lids! the detergent/heat can damage the rubber seal, hand wash only). I have a huge collection now of all sizes.

I stick my cookies in the fridge.... Usually separated with wax paper in a sealed-up Rubbermaid container.

why fix something that's not broken? jars work great at curing and storing buds and keep them from getting smashed like what happens with baggies. Also I too believe that the tin could leave a taste, after all drink a coke from a can and then one in a glass bottle. you can tell the difference imo

wel something is broken ..as i see it if you cure in a jar and forget to open it after a few days its going to mold .. ive heard that tins are more forgivable in this aspect as they arent 100% air tight ... i got this out of a write up in Treating yourself magazine ..im not saying yea or nay but the guy had used glass and switched to tins swears by it
