Cure in a freezer?
I don't think so...Not exactly.....
There is an odd process of curing some tobacco that
sort of way.... Your missing the part about how it's frozen for a few hours and thawed. This is done multiple times in another "freezing" cure method.
The idea is to freeze the plant matter enough to rupture cells and release moisture faster. Freeze - thaw and dry, and another period of air curing/drying take place. This process for tobacco "curing" was sent to the US patent office in the late 60's? The patent was granted in the early 70's? After that second dry. It is re dampened and slowly re-dried to smoking moisture content...If I remember right.
I prefer the old style, slow dry and extended moist cure method. Retains better flavor in my book.....
Shit, I just did a search of the patent......Here you go! Filed in 68 and approved in 70....

I would research this deeper before trying it again. Hate to say that "I" prefer the common method but, when I gave it a shot. I liked the old way better. I may have missed something, so digging deeper is a good idea before trying it out.....
I'll do some more research and give it a shot with a non-top shelf strain first.....
Interesting......I have concerns on if the trich's freeze and rupture the wax/ester outer shell that forms......Be looking into that too.
