Crossing tees and cover windows

So I’m a home owner who turning a bed room to grow space. The room is 9x14 with a window and a closet with a decent size man hole in the floor. The closets isn’t included in the measurements. I’m thinking I need something to cover the window to keep the temperature regularated? If so any suggestion?
 
Are you using the window for venting ? Air cooled lights etc. Are you dividing room for veg and bloom maybe utilize closet for clones or veg ? But if it were me just covering window i would use foam board to insulate it and use orca film over window frame.
 
Not sure what you mean as far as covering the window for temperature. Or why there is a man hole in your closet?

You have space to do lots of different options, depends on your goals.
If the house is lived in and not in the artic then getting heat out is more likely a concern than keeping heat in.
Blocking light from both directions is a good idea.

What you need is a place to vent heat and a place to allow air in to replace the air out.
Lights.
Ventilation equipment.
Filter to remove smell.
Air circulation (oscillating fans)
Thermometer/humidistat.

I’m starting from scratch on this. I plan to reun the filter through the closet. But I will foam the windows and find the film.

The goal is to get the right quantity without jeopardizing the quality. As far as growing complete newbie.
the Man hole in the closet exit to out door been here before I brought the house. I’m using that area to run the filters

That's pretty much your checklist right there. You could always throw a window AC unit in there too. They are usually pretty cheap if you are on a budget. It may look weird buying one in the middle of winter if you live in a cold climate though :P

Craigslist a/c and dehumidifier is were i got mine usually pick one up for 25$ i replace mine once a year are so dehuey i got for 50$ lg with remote 5 litres i just ran hose out into 5 gallon water resevoir then use that water for other house plants they love it.
 
That's a large space for a grow room. Like suggested you should do a bloom/veg split closet could be used for clones seedlings and grow room material storage. Think about it like this you need a spot to mix water maybe a source depending on grow methods. If it's a true dedicated grow room. Ac in the window insulate the room with foam boards and some panda film to finish off. For a more basic design get some white paint for the walls and ceiling foam around the window frame to ensure no air leaks, you dont want to much temp fluctuation. Need a vent fan for odor control as the room is not air tight and allows for more air exchange especially if you open the door a few times a day. Depending where you live you may not even need the dehumidifier. Before you start go get a humidity/thermometer from walmart or something and get an average of what your temps and humidity look like so you dont over buy and over take space in the grow room unnecessarily. Also another factor to take is power that is needed for your operation, you dont want any fires. Take your time as this is an area that you want to produce for you, you also dont have to spend a billion dollars to do it if you lay it all out before you start spending money because someone here said to do so. It took me about 4 months of planning and analyzing for the right stuff needed for my first grow. I am still using the same setup with minor improvements to my grow room like I ended up adding in a separate clone/seedlings and veg area. When I can I will insulate the walls with foam boards and panda film. Also another word of advice if you are on a concrete floor ("man hole cover") definitely need a buffer between the floor and grow pots or bags. Again the name of the game is clean consistent environment will produce great plants depending on the grower. Look at all factors before laying out any type of capital, just because I can and the next guy say 1000 watt hps or MH doesnt mean your capable of the same things.

This venting question gave me an idea and don’t want to steal your thread but I’m having hard time coming up with a place to pull fresh air from, do you guys think that pulling air from the crawl space would cause any issues. I have a few concerns like dirty air, or pulling too much new cold air under the house and freezing pipes.

Yeah true. Better to do it in reverse and draw cool air from under the house and send heat out of a window.
But then running ducting under there would work, straight to air vent on out wall.

Lots of folks in hot countries do it. In a cold climate I would double insulate all pipework to be safe.
Or duct from air brick with an intake fan to make sure the cold air only goes where you want.

Definitely just PULL air from that crawl space, do not put hot air out there, .RootDown is 110% correct and it will ruin your day when you find out you are the cause of mold in your home. Devastating.

My suggestion if you’ve NEVER grown. Get a tent and set it up in the room. Grow in it for awhile. I say this because it will give you an easy peak into what I call “the grow life”. That will help you recognize things much easier that you need for a larger grow room. Just my $.02..... good luck. By the way is this grow op in a legal state? It matters
