crooked closet door - light problems?

I think I might have a problem - the sliding door to my closet grow room is crooked and as a result there is a big slit (1/2" wide or so) that runs half way up the closet. I would imagine there is no problem with this during the light cycle but can light that creeps in during the dark cycle hurt the growth of my plants? My plant is WAY too small for its age at 4 weeks old. I have the dark cycle on from 2-8 am each night so light may seep in when I go to the bathroom, etc. or when sunlight starts to come in from outside starting at around 6-7 am.

Do rooms need to be completely "light-tite?" Is this what could be causing a growth problem with my plant?

It will not hurt your veg cycle.

Try hammering a flat piece of wood vertically and half way across one of the doors on the inside. This should stop any light coming in. You'll have to sort it out for the flowering stage as it can confuse your plant and turn it into a hermie.

If I understand, you can't nail or tape up that crack because it will keep you from getting in the closet easily. They make a backing material for drapes to make them lightproof. I forget what it's called but any fabric store will know. it comes in 54 inch wide rolls and is $2 per running foot. Get a piece of that and some velcro. Make it easy to hang in front of the closet and put velcro where need to block any light. Keep that up during dark phase.

ROFLMAO!!!! Yeah, just start banging boards into the wall until the light is fixed...hell, get out some brick and mortar and seal it up.

Use that tape like from walmart/home depot/lowes its for sealing windows, doors ect.
Mine leaks at 1 point and never hurt anything, but they really need to be light tight man.

Keep rolling mate!

Think about it, look at most closet doors and you'll see the same principle.....just professionally done. Obviously he needs to take care not to damage anything in this process.

I had the same problem with my closet sliding doors. all i had to do was switch the doors around. You may not be able to use the handles but they dont help much. Keep in mind i have sliding door you may not.
Good luck
