Critical kush mainlined

Thought I would finally do a grow journal and I'm looking for advise on this strain.

I've got one Barneys Farm Critical Kush planted in soil on 6/13, 28 days ago.

It's mainlined to four right now and I'm looking for input on whether to go to eight with this strain.

It's going into super soil before flower, but haven't decided on a 10 or 15 gal fabric pot yet.

It's going into my 31 inch square cabinet with 188 watts of Cree bulbs,16-2700k,4-5000k and a 10 watt 730 nm flower initiator when it's current plant is done. https://www.rollitup.org/led-other-lighting/656542-flowering-cree-bulbs.html

Lookin' good, subbed up. How much height do you have? Could get away with a 5-7gal..
I think the cabinet could fit about a 4 foot plant or a couple inches more plus the pot. I've been using 7's but think I could do better with a up size. I have a 10 and 15 gal fabric pot and the 15 is only 1 inch wider than the 10 so I'm thinking of using the 15 and rolling the top edge down a bit so maybe 12 gallons. I've got her mainlined to 8 now so all I need is some veg time. I'm thinking maybe 20 or 22 inches tall then go to flower, not sure how much stretch these CK's will have.

I got 2000w worth of ck going in one part of my room, I recommend flowering at about 16inches and to choose a indica pheno make sure to top and super crop. I think I'm going to run all 8k lights next time due to the huge yield I'm expecting.

Well she's mainlined to 8 and in her final pot. Its a 15 gal fabric pot with 4 inches of the top rolled down. Got 10 gals of soil in it and all I need to do is roll it up if I need room for top dressing.

might i suggest going with a superoots 5 gal air pot next time. I think you would be happy with the results, it essentially provides you with the same results you will get out of your 10-15 gal fabric pot

You have a saliva pheno there by the looks of it, very long flowering. I could have harvested my indica ck at about day 45 full of calyxys and very dense, sativa girls are very yay slowwww

Thanks for dropping in Hank,I actually have 4 of those in my closet. I'm having better results this run that's almost done since moving to 7 gal fabrics but I also changed from regular soil to super soil so I can't say for sure what's made the difference or if it's both. This is going to be a single plant in it's own cabinet so I thought I would step it up to 10 gal just to see if I get much of a difference. I went with the rolled down 15 gal because I had plenty of space and it was only 1 inch wider than the 10 gal and I could also roll it up and top dress if I needed. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to give her enough veg time to take advantage of the extra soil tho, I'm scoping the plant that's in her cabinet tonight because she looks ahead of schedule. I also have the pot sitting on a grate that let it breath underneath.

Hey bimanc thanks for checking in,I've been hoping for some input from people that have already grown CK as this is my first run with it. Can I ask why you think that? With the mainlining process she has had a lot of her lower end cleaned out. Her first node was trimmed off and her second nodes where cut for clones so the hub is at her third true node. I have taken off some very large and wide leaves that were a lot bigger than anything in the latest pic and thought it looked very Indica.

You may be right, even with this plant I'm not going to clean the bottom of the plant next time just dead leaves. I have a plant in the far back corner I cleaned but I guess a branch grew back, it's the size of a golf ball lol I'm not cleaning anything next time the bag appeal on the indicas will be through the roof. The difference I see is the indica keeps growing frosty calyxys and the sativa just keeps throw out tons of pistils, still very behind.

I have some critical kush plants in bud. I started 4 seeds femanized. 3 are short and stocky with alot of bud, 1 is taller and lanker and looks like it will be a good producer also. Mine have a nasty smell almost like turpentine and are tricomb covered. Not really sure how else to explain how they smell but it is very strong smelling. I started the seeds mid may the 3 shorter ones are about 2 1/2 to 3 ft tall. The other one is over 4 ft tall. What results are you guys having??

Kudos to you, that looks like a giant pain in the ass to me :) I don't grow from seed usually, but that seems like you have been training a long time and you are not even close to flipping yet.

Do you think the extra yield will make up for the extended veg time, and the costs associated with that extra time (more fert and elec etc)?

I am not trolling, I am have seen a few of the mainingling threads and it is interesting. I would imagine you MUST do this with feminized seeds or that would be a disaster.

Thanks bum,and it's much easier from seed than it's from clone. Seed plants are symmetrical until they start to mature and clones are not. I also have 4 blueberry skunk clones mainlined to 8 in flower and 4 more in veg. Nugbuckets who started the mainlining threads claims you lose about 10 days when you mainline so for me I think it's worth it. I started doing it because I grow in cabinets and the larger one fits 4 plants and has induction and T5 HO lighting. With that type of lighting you don't get as much penetration so by mainlining you keep all your bud growth in one zone and the buds are equally fed, so no popcorn buds on my plants just 8 big colas. This CK is a fem but many use reg seeds, you just sex them before you start your manifold and if it's a girl you basically cut the flower part off to start the manifold and put your lights back for veg,it takes about 28 days if I remember right. With only 5 plants in flower at a time,I like working with my plants and enjoy mainlining but I'm not sure doing 20 or more would be. Once you get the knack of it,mainlining is quite easy and doesn't take that much time but I would suggest going with seeds if your new to it unlike me that started on clones.
