Pieces are showing up 1 day at a time. Still waiting on fedex. Bc they suck balls. Tent was suppose to be here last friday. Now its gonna be here this coming monday. 3 week delivery is insane.

Got the solid core wire today and the driver for the EB Series strips.

Looking good so far man. I can definitely tell that you know what you're doing with your light setup. I saw over in another thread where people were giving out bad info that was potentially dangerous, and then they attacked you for pointing it out. It's just noise. Another thread ruined by dumb asses.

There are some of us who appreciate seeing threads like this one.

I do this for a hobby. And to help my son understand electric. He wants to be an electrician. I've been an electrician for 20 years. And I still dont know everything. Theres lots to be learned daily. But on here people build one or two lights. And they know everything. I build power plants. And do stress cones that carry high voltage. 14.4kva and 4160v AC. 480, 277, all of it. I helped build the largest nuclear power plant on the east coast. And one inArizona. Abitiby Bowater.. turned a coal fired power plant to woodchips stem turbine powered. My best of all time was a 33,000 Hp motor. That had 36 feeds of big red. Its 3 conductor 500mcm. Inside a shielded armored cable. Took forever to wire up. But when that lady took off. You could feel the static coming off of her from 40 feet away. It was amazing.
 
I dont always build strip lights, but when I do!!!! Jesus asks me to dim them. Wow bright AF. And that's only 13 Bridgelux EB Series Gen 2s. (7)5000k and (6)3500k, should equal out to roughly 4250k mixed. Give or take a few. In series on a Hlg-185h-C700A... normally I dont run series. But these only needing 350mA to blind you, or I can run up to 700mA.

Dimmed clear down at 350mA @18.4Vdc its pushing 83.72w 6.44w per strip. Pulling 239.2vdc

Ramped clear up at 700mA @21.6vdc its pushing 196.56w 15.12w per strip. Pulling 280.2vdc of the drivers 286vdc max. So driven wide open pulling 97.98% max load of the driver. Which is running the driver at 94% efficiency. Just about damn near perfect. And she will be in a 2x2x3 tent. At just a fraction below 50w sqft at 49.035w sqft. She should veg pretty good.

I just ordered some 0ne inch thick heat sinks from heatsink USA. Wish I would of read this thread before hand. So those l shape aluminum rails disperse enough heat for the boards to run safe. Well when i buy more boards i will buy the l shape aluminum. Thanks

Yeah all my strips are on either alum angle or alum c channel.
 
Just placed an order for 16 bridgelux gen 2s. For roughly a 500w light build. Still debating on how to run them. 1, 2, or 3 drivers.
1 hlg-480h-C1400A
2 Hlg-240h-c1400a
3 hlg-120h-c1400a

I can get the hlg120s for 28 bucks a piece. Which will put out 150.1w per driver. 5 strips per driver. 450w using 15 strips instead of 16.


Gonna run them at 21.6vdc @1400mA

21.6 × 16= 345.60vdc @1.4= 483.94w

That's 31x31 which is 7.1 sqft. I'd run atleast an hlg-320h-24a on 10 strips. The hlg320 A type will push 10 strips at 1334mA bc its max is 13.34A that's 32.01w per strip. X's 10 strips. 320.16w that's 45w per sqft

Edit: sry replied to the wrong person. But for your tent @ThatSpudGuy you want the eb series strips right?
