Crap! My sprouts broke in half!

2 of my sprouts were really tall (stretchy) and just sorta broke in half, falling on the side

I used some matches to get them up

Is this fatal to them? They're now being supported and the sprout itself is still in one piece, just kinda broken

You must have the lights too far away, they stretched up too far and fell from the strain. How are they looking right now, do you have any pictures? I can't say 100% for sure, but they may die. You could try to take them from the broken area, and re root them. May be better off just starting over....Keep us posted on how they are doin!

They may make it..always leave an inch or two in the top of pot for seedlings so if they stretch you pile dirt up to the bottom leaves... If you're using CFL's get a Y splitter and put plant in middle of lowered light, helps stop sir stretch a lots...... Luck.

Ok, here are some pics. I focused the broken areas.

They look good so far, but are you saying that I should just take the whole thing and plant it into deeper soil? That should help?

I let the plants stay like that overnight with a CFL just an inch away from them

So far none of the plants have shown signs of death, which is a great thing

Is there any drug I can give them? Like something specifically designed for sprout growth

I believe that is what takeroot is for or will help. you can find some takeroot at your local homedepot in the garden section. I had a kush clone before the one i had now and the same thing happened when it was about 10" in the veg stage. wasnt stretchy but my dog broke the stem. I woke up to the plant laying on it side. same type of deal, the stem wasnt snapped in half but it was pretty much broke. I figured it was a big shock to the plant and it was gonna stunt its growth quite a bit so i just pulled it out and bought a new plant. glad I did because the one i have now has a lot more growth. Im almost two weeks into flowering now and i have lots of bud growth. good luck!
