Umm it depends on what you put into it.
Cheap nutes vs expensive quality nutes, good lights vs bad lights, meters to keep ppm, ph, etc in line, fans, ducting, excellent growing medium, electricity costs, pots, black out material, place to grow, energy, time spent, sweat, blood, tears, genetics, seeds, rock wool, propagators, buckets, air pumps, reservoirs, water. etc. etc. etc. etc. .
I could keep going but i think we get the point.
Now if the grower is not investing in good quality EVERYTHING to grow their medicine as dank and top shelf as possible then they cant, nor shall they ask for more than its worth$$, and they must have a green thumb on top of all that to even grow quality top shelf medicine in the first place, not everyone can do it believe me, even if they have quality EVERYTHING.
So if you're able to grow the dankest dank then you can ask up to 400 or more an ounce and the grower still probably feels like they're ripping them selves off.
I grow bud so dank its a novelty item, its almost a sin crumbling my buds and burning them.
Lets get real.

no bud ever costs $400 an ounce to grow. unless, like our friend said, you grow one plant under 3,000 watts. and even then, i would kick my own ass if the costs came out to be $400 an ounce.
funny how you list both hydro and soil mediums in your ridiculous justification.
if you include a decent set up and average out the costs of the initial set up AND needed materials for one year of growing, there is no way to justify anything over $5 a gram, and even then you have to count food, clothing, and shelter for a human to tend the cannabis as a cost.
also, don't buy from CL if you have any other option, bad idea.

have extra of the same shit daily. Not only that but their top shelf was always better than everyone else s.

Really i have not a fucking clue, there are a plethora of dispensaries, co-ops/collectives all around, there is more than one choice here, you act as if im the only guy they can go to for their medicine, and i force them to do it at gun point.
people pay for it because if they dont, they aint getting that quality, plain and fucking simple.
