COVID

The biggest thing we have to deal with though, is what we are going to do when there is only 5 or so % left unvaccinated. Who are you all going to blame then? There are many countries right now that are approaching 90% vaccinated and undergoing a huge spike in cases and deaths.

For example, in Israel, nearly 80% of ppl in hospital are vaccinated. You can't blame the unvaccinated when their are none..

It's a scary situation, and people are just clinging onto blaming the unvaccinated.

For example, here in Australia everyone was like "the pilot that spread covid and shut down Townsville should be jailed and fired for not being vaccinated and spreading covid". . when I told them he was vaccinated, and so were the people that were infected they backtracked instantly. Funny that. This proves it's us vs them, and it's scaring me. It's not about spreading the virus at all, it's obviously about falling into line. A country can never suceed when the people are more interesting in winning an ideological war than pulling together and fighting the governments tyranny. You guys are lucky your not in Melbourne or Sydney. It's a joke.

It's not the fault of the vaccine it's the fault of the variants and people's immune systems. It's going to take several years of dialing in a new vaccine to catch the variants. That's part of what makes mRNA tech so useful. We should have tuned the boosters the US is giving out to the Delta variant instead of giving a third Alpha vaccine. Although it is still useful. We will need to become more agile in development. Right now the Mu variant is believed to escape the vaccine entirely. We are fighting a moving target and this will take several iterations. I expect Covid will become endemic if we have a significant population that refuses the vaccine to we can reduce mutation reservoirs.

Vaccines work but while we are dealing with so many reservoirs we have to be prepared for many mutations and lesser immunity in people for many reasons. Even with three vaccines on board I'm still wearing an N95 indoors. Although I did stop with my heavier, reusable N100 for the time being.

Fucken Australians, the only people saying that are the social media idiots that’s not the general consensus from the people I know.
What state do you live in?

Yep, when I was in the melb hotspot I wore a proper respirator lol. I'm not saying it's the vaccines fault, just saying that constantly assaulting people who don't want to get vaccinated isn't doing any good if at the end of the day cases are going to stay steady, if not increase regardless of vaccine status. I just think that unifying is a better bet. I'm a sad person that hopes for the better, bit a little naive.

Unify? How do you unify with stupidity, thoughtlessness and solipsism. No thank you. Rampant selfishness is costing innocent lives. When you see pediatric cancer patients etc... who can't get a bed because anti-vaxxers are filling them I just can't. Luckily I'm retired and when I worked I was a surgeon so this isn't my fight anyway. But I'm seeing my friends torn to pieces by the death cult's selfishness and it's very hard for me to swallow.

It hasn't even hit us yet, so I'm waiting on the devide when shit gets serious. I'll probably just dig a hole somewhere in the outback and run away..

I can't imagine the loss. We have had under 10 deaths in my state so I couldn't begin to understand the stress america has faced. It will come here though, it's all a matter of time...we are due to open borders soon and I'm freaking out.

Find me a doc that will juice me and I'll be on it lol..it sucks as I have to get my second shot to do work placement for my health science course, but I can't get my second shot due to active pericarditis and rheumatic inflammatory markers. If I can't finish a 30k course due to this I'm going to demand a refund lol.

They joys of autoimmune issues .

Does different types of vaccines play a role in this?
