Its a fight with VA but if you injure yourself during active duty, they do covermeds. Any meds for your condition. This includes RCMP as well. I was injured in the military imI'm out now and could never afford 300.00 a month for meds without their help. I wish everyone got meds that help for a reasonable amount. Especially something that was on the earth before us. Its not a chemical made in a lab. No one should pay huge amounts. Harpers trying to make it impossible for people he makes more money off Big Pharma!

I'm interested in when you say its a fight with VA. Can you expand on this?
I assume PTSD would fall under injure yourself during active duty?
I appreciate your input.
Thanks for your service to our country. I don't always agree with how our government picks our battles, but I think like most Canadians we stand behind our troops 100%.

It can sometimes be quite a fight to get them to recognize a condition, and cover costs. But in this matter, they were very helpful. I already established my condition with them so that helped. I for some reason think Harper had no say in their decision to cover this as Meds.

Every couple of years I have to fight with DVA just to get physio even though it's covered through my injury, just when it comes across a bean counters desk they don't seem to understand I will never be "fixed" and I require ongoing treatment for pain(as it never goes away). So while my doctor and physio send in all the documents that DVA requires for treatment I have to wait months until it gets approved.

They have a linear approach to things.... injury... treatment.... good to go... case closed
While some ppl require ongoing treatment to manage their injury, they can't understand management

As far as PTSD .... it was all the info from the united states that helps us in Canada, as they used MMJ for their soldiers with great results before it was used(covered) for our soldiers.

One more thing on DVA .... as a patient you can pick any LP you want and DVA will contact them (of course once approved coverage) and work out a direct pay method with the LP of your choice. So just because it doesn't give that info on the LP site don't worry as DVA will work with whom ever you choose.
