Fuck organic soil. Go sterile hydro and pH the feed. Get yourself a dry 2 part nutrient and some scales. pH and EC pen are essential.
Browse around the various pinned threads about feeding on this site and spend a few hours watching YouTube.... There is a learning curve on your first grow regarding feed ect... You will only learn and get better.... Now get going and make some mistakes

So happy frog will not need any fertilizer for the first 3-4 weeks. Any fertilizer you choose, start with half the recommended dosage and only feed them every other water cycle. Meaning: water Wednesdays and fertilizing on Sundays, etc.

In this case they are correct. Nobody worried about soil runoff pH and started chasing it until a couple years or so ago. Now people are freaking out because their runoff doesn't fall within the range for soil. Soil runoff pH is a terrible way to determine pH at the root zone. The ingredients in soil break down and wash out at different rates. The runoff is not representative of the pH at the root zone. Soil also has a buffering effect that will keep pH within the proper range unless you screw it up by trying to adjust runoff pH.

I remember a few years back people were saying hydro was too much of a hassle because you had to constantly check and adjust pH. Soil growers were saying how simple growing in soil was. Now many soil growers are complicating things and causing unnecessary problems and wasting time with things they don't need to bother with. I'm pretty sure this all started from new growers watching some hacks grow video's on youtube. Youtube has spread more misinformation regarding growing cannabis than anything else. Most are just infomercials marketing unnecessary products to those that don't know any better. That bogus cannabis science has found it's way into the mainstream.

^ Also in this order; add nutrients to water first, then *adjust pH, then pour into plant

*adjust to 6.5 for best results in most soil including fox farm products

Start with a simple to use fertilizer like Megacrop or Jack's. You can always get fancy as your grow skills improve.
