couple of questions from a newbie

Hi there!
I started a journal and asked a few questions but I guess journals aren't read as mmuch? Check out the journal for pics and a lot more info...
This is our first real grow although we've done crappy ones in the past.
Our plants are doing awesome but my question was about adding some cool white flourescents to 2k hps lights. Any benefit? Also....if our roots plug our misters, can we trim them?
Thank you so much for any help u can offer.

....I've seen flourescents used as sidelights with hid's above, the garden was very dense and not getting adequate light, so the grower was desperate.

To avoid confusion I will refer to Kelvin.
I find adding more 6500K supplimental lighting helps in resin production.A HPS 2700K flowering will benefit with 6500K floro or MH supplemental lighting.Wether it is 6500K or 2700K,additional lighting to shaded lowers is allways a benefit.

Just curious...pix will help...did you do any training?
To answer you question yes I believe additional lighting (CFL) can be beneficial to lower growth if you have enough and if you can get penetration. Your 2K lights prolly do a decent job at penetration....how far along is the grow? I couldn't find your journal.

Ugh, sorry. Im on my phone so adding pics isn't gonna fly, there are pics on the journal tho. My other question was if our roots get too long, can we trim them back?
Thanks again

Roots with a healthy mass can be trimmed back in veg up to 2 weeks before 12/12.Any trim back going into or during flower is detriment. How much one can trim back is setup dependant.Closer to the Taproot the roots are trimmed the closer to negative on the plants health.Size up the plant to root mass desired would be considered a general rule of thumb.

Thanks! We also have limited room between the top of the tubs and the screen, but a lot of room under the tubs... Do u think this will prove to be an issue? Exact distance is 5-6 inches. So far so good tho... Lol.
