apologies for overlooking your post Greenthumbskunk. I've growed in and around for cornfields numerous times. I'm smack dab in the middle of corn / soybean country. I've never had a bug problem of any kind. NEVER... Might sound hard to believe for you but I just never have. I'm guessing you are somewhere in the Midwest

Put 50 gallons of drink on R&R under a beautiful Moonlight

Well last night was one of those nights. After a day that touched the lower 90s with high humidity and a heat index of nearly 100 the Ladies in my backyard garden stretched like mad. Bombastic is the word of the day. Will be interesting to see how the others grew.

Here are some other "almost yard pets" who dwell with Nosey Rosey.

I listen to a lot of Alice in Chains. Those who know me well would define that as an understatement. Every time I hear Rooster I think of a man who was near and dear to my heart. He died from cancer a few years ago. He was the same age as my Dad and though him and my Dad were never close friends they use to walk home from school together. They would part ways as they come to a fork in the road and my Father would head on out to his Grandparents farm(Where I would grow up at and now live) while my friend would head to his Grandparent's place. This friend opened to me often about his time in Vietnam. He was in the Army special forces. He told of seeing children and Mother's being shot in the head during interrogations. He told of a chopper ride to Saigon for some R & R while being high to the heavens on heroin. That fucking money making(Military Industrial Complex) war on mankind destroyed and adversely affected so many lives it boggles the mind.

Now after having conversed with Doublejj and getting to know the quality of man that he is I think of him along with my dear friend every time Rooster comes on. Hat tip to you Doublejj and to those who were forced to wage war on their fellow man so that the coffers of men in high places might get fatter. P.S. Fuck Henry Kissinger

In Vietnam, as we passed thru villages on patrol, children would come out and beg for candy. I watched in horror one day as a US Soldier handed a Hershey bar to a little girl, and as she reached out for the candy, the grenade they had strapped to her exploded....killing them both. Women, especially little girls, were expendable in Vietnam....war is hell...
