Counting nodes/ do you need to wait till 6 to start mainline?

Just wondering if those bottom two sets count because their leaves arent 3 pronged. Also i know conventional wisdom says wait until 6 nodes to start mainlining but if you have a particularly vigorous plant could you start closer to 4 or 5? Thanks

What's mainline?

I don't have first hand experience with mainlining, but yes conventionally you would wait until 6 nodes. IMO however I would be more interested in the issues that your plant is clearly showing as far as holes in the leaves, dying leaves, etc.

I agree with tntgreen13...get them healthy first. I mainline all my girls now because of space. You can wait 6, but, i snip as early as 3 or 4 depending on how healthy they are. I even mainline all my clones. For me, it depends on how big they are, how fast they grow and what size pot i'm using. Here's a pic of one I clipped really early and just gave it a final trim before putting into flower next week. you'll notice in the pic, she gets to 8 colas pretty quick. i just topped for 16.

I'm not too worried as they are planted outside, and i can't really put up a fence around them or else it would draw a bit too much attention. They appear healthy and have finally caught their root so they're growing fast.

I'm really just trying to make sure i cut the plants correctly!
