Could this be anything but genetics?

I planted a dozen or so autos in small plastic pots. The first ones were entirely sphagnum peat moss, then I switched to a germination layer on top of potting soil. Everything is doing great, but for the "Purple Monster Auto," by All American Seeds. They came up twisted and weird. Is there any environmental stress that could have caused this. I'm also posting a shot of "Hubbabubbasmellowscope" by Mephisto, just to show well the others are doing.

Looks like mutants to me, maybe see if they survive and straighten out?

Dude - straight peat has no nutrient value and a pH of about 4.5. Bad choice of medium.
