Could this be a bad thing ?

I've been lifting weights along with a bit of cardio everyday for the past five days, I do a full body workout everyday, anyway I've been sore before but not like this I've never done five days straight, but I'm not sure if this soreness is a good thing or a bad thing cause I can't sleep comfortably, I've changed up my diet I try to eat at least 2 times a day cause I thought it would prevent something like this from happening.

Before when I used to get sore, I would only feel it if I used that part of my body to do something, I have a constant ache in my arms and chest area, but the chest isn't distracting me like my arms, it was a positive pain it still kinda is but I don't know if I've injured myself or not.

I'm hoping that this isn't that big of a deal cause I wanna stay persistent.

What you're experiencing is soreness from lactic acid build up. When you do resistance training (anaerobic) to failure, you build up lactic acid in your muscles that tears down existing muscle fiber. As the body heals, it replaces more fiber than was destroyed, that is how muscles get bigger and stronger. The feeling of soreness is a result of destroying muscle fiber (your body is trying to tell you to lay off for a while), and the soreness fades as your body replaces it. This is why body builders rest the body parts they work for the next day or two, so that they can let them recover. The muscle is built during the rest phase, not the workout out phase. If you work sore muscles, you are actually impeding this process as well as risking injury. You'll have much better gains if you wait for the soreness to fade before the next workout. I like to alternate my days such as chest and back day 1, legs day 2 and arms day 3. By the time the chest/back workout rolls around again, they've had two days off, adequate time to heal and grow. Cardio (aerobic) work can be done daily, but not full body resistance workouts. Knowing this, you can make faster progress with less effort. You're welcome...

It's a good thing just eat lots of meat and don't bitch out keep pushing it. You do want a day off after so your muscles have time to heal like 3 times a week for the first month or two until you can handle it then you won't be as sore anymore and you will have a lot more energy too.

I disagree, hell lose more weight if he replaces meat with pulses and feel fuller for longer and more satisfied.
Pulses? Yeah he can lose more weight but will gain less muscles and that picture of him kid needs some damn muscles more than losing weight IMO. After all muscles burn fat like a bastard.

Up to him really does he want to be built like a brick shit house or want to be a race horse jocky?

I dont think what you claim is true but i got no evidence to support it, do you have any? Maybe @sunni can chip in, but the aminoacid quality of things like chickpeas and black beans are extremely similar to that of chicken for instance, yes the percentage of protein is lower but not by a huuuge amount. Plus i also think(and have read somewhere) its a myth that your body needs as much protein as its commonly thought in order to gain muscle.

.

I got some evidence for ya, I've been lifting weights for the past five days, I noticed I was weighing the same but my stomach was sticking out less, so the next day I decided to do a little experiment to see if I was working out correctly I ate once that day cause if I eat only once a day im gonna be a pound less the next day, so I woke up the next morning still 193, but I am ridiculously sore and notice that my love handles are shrinking downwards my body is starting to become more square like. It's smaller everyday in conclusion bluntmassa is right.

Just look at what Arnold Schwarzenegger's diet http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/arnold-schwarzenegger-blueprint-trainer-mass-nutrition.html

Where it says protein matters he says a gram of protein per pound at 250lbs he eats 250 grams of protein a day. He did eat healthy lean meat and shit no alcohol.

But yeah if you are trying to build muscle you need lots of protein you can get from other shit than meat and you need calories and fat as well because muscle will burn fat when you are just sitting on your ass.

Yeah it's bad, go get some ho-hos and cool on the couch for a week, you'll feel like your old self again. .if that's what you want. Otherwise, quit your bitching, no pain, no gain is real.

I agree, but he may need to drop fat first. I started with a poor workout, where I was building muscle, but not burning enough fat. I had to go to a mostly aerobic workout to burn the fat off, then I built muscle. Different workout styles have different dietary needs. I think he should be more focused on aerobics for now, get the heart rate up for long periods. Once the weight drops, training muscle becomes easier.

Yeah some cardio would definitely be good when I was way overweight as a kid I took boxing hell of a work out and you learn how to fight good only time I lost a fight I was drunk as fuck.:)

I was also lifting weights too and the boxing class was like 3 days a week. Much better than running on a treadmill I could never get into that bikes and all I would just get bored but I would run until I started sweating and then hit the weights always good to be warmed up first you can lift better.

I lost a lot of weight and gained muscle I am way over that bmi bullshit but not bad on body fat percentage.

Make sure you have a cheat meal once a week, your body will thank you. Don't splurge and pig out....eat a burger or have an ice cream or something. ...this cheat meal is helpful as ur body will digest it quick as well as boost metabolism too.

Yeah bmi I'm always over. ..I had a bf test a couple weeks ago and I was at 17.8%....lowest I've been was around 11 or 12 %.

Stick with it Skywalker. ..it'll be tough for the first few weeks ...your mind and body is adjusting to the new life style

Yeah, so what? Your toning muscle more than burning fat, although they go hand in hand, you need to focus on one or the other to get specific results. You'll end up like me, barrel chested and a belly but strong. Think football players build.

"Theoretically, about 3500 calories equals one pound of body weight. This means that you'd have to take in 3500 fewer calories than you usually do, over a period of time, to lose one pound."

Most people can safely cut enough calories to healthily lose up to 2-3 pounds a week initially. If your dropping 1 pound a day, I saw your pic, you are not obese enough to lose that much healthily, your doing more damage than good. I went down to a 1800 cal/day diet which cut appx 10K cals a week for me. I lost appx 2 -3lbs a week for the first 4-5 weeks, then my body readjusted, and I was able to cut back to 1200cal/day, at which point I was only losing about 1-2 lbs a week. After 4 months I was down 20+lbs, and I started putting on weight, but it was muscle weight. I ended up back around my starting weight after a year, but it was mostly muscle this time.

I need to start working out again, I went to move a rear axle the other day and struggled picking it up. Used to be nothing. ..

I bought a mountain bike, I couldn't do stationary cardio. I have gas lines and high tension lines that run right near my house, miles upon miles of dirt trail riding. My calfs were solid fucking steel back then. ..lol. I won $100 bet because my buddy didn't think I could pick up the back of a car. I lifted the rear of a early 90's cavalier enough to slide a piece of 3/4" plywood under the wheels, that wad the guage we used..lol. I was going to try getting under and benching it, but figured that wasn't really safe. .lol.

Toning muscle ? Before I started this workout regime the only muscle I had was in my arms, look no need to get off topic here I just wanna know if I can safely have a workout tonight as well As tomorrow night, and the next night, etc.

Skywalker, after you make that list, keep your daily focus on cardio and fat burning, from reg run and walk.

review what tyler said about dividing the muscles into two or three groups. that way by the third day in a row, that group had fully recovered before you start back at those. a complete day off from lifting here and there is beneficial.

Shit I have to do interval training for cardio myself, not overweight much at 175. I need to listen my own advice and take action.
