yah, after just recently having to put our 14 year old dog down, we have been going to shelters looking for a new addition to our family, and my god, it's soo fucking depressing to go into these places and see that some of the dogs are like 8 or 9 years old..i can't believe that some people could own a dog for so long only to give it up in its last years of life.. it makes me wonder if they did the same things for their children..
the thing is that over half of the dogs we've seen are pit's or a pit mix, or what they like to call stafordhires at the pounds.. i have to be honest, not a lot of dogs scare me, but for w/e reason pits do..
on a side note, if anyone knows of a biggish kind of dog, preferably a girl, and preferably a pup, that needs a loving forever home, pm me..
Yea the pound was very depressing to even go to, i witness a dog being adopted and each time a dog is adopted the other dogs go crazy and cry becuase they are still thier. The place and employees are very wonderful poeple who love pets as much as we do. They maintain and keep the place clean it dosent smell like dog poop at all thier. Alot of dogs often do get adopted which is a wonderful thing. My dog ment so much to me that i found myself crying more than i did at a friends funeral becuase i had her for 4-5 years and fed and play with her. I dont have any kids so shes the closet to a daughter to me.
