Just curious as to what people are paying for a months power.Im at about 200 or so. seems high. Im running 1000w 18/6 for the last month, along with the a/c etc with the heat of summer.

here's how you figure out how much you'll spend on your grow op.. look on your bill, and see what you're paying per kw/h, killowatt hour... just say for our ex. it's 10 cents per kw/h... and again in our ex. your using 1k in lights.. so, you would be paying 10 cents for every hour that the light is running.. so for 18 hours a day, that's $1.80 x 30 days in a month, which comes out to $54 / month for 1k of lights at 18 hours a day for one month total..
just substitute you're own numbers into the equation, and you'll come out with an exact number for your setup..

like racerboy said just look at your bill and figure out your cost per KWH. It is best to get on a time of use plan and run off peak, I know with APS a 1000 watt light on peak at 18 hours is around $80. much cheaper off peak I believe around $30; I might be off on the numbers, its been a while since I figured out the numbers, AZ power providers also charge different rates during different seasons.

Don't forget that much of that 1kw goes out as waste heat, which has to be removed by an air conditioner or home HVAC. Because heat pump efficiency varies with the temperature difference between inside and outside, it's tough to say how much energy it costs to cool the heat dump from a 1kw bulb, but it's there.
