This is the last weekend it is in theaters - Saw it today - GO SEE IT!!!

I saw it stone sober and the visuals amazed me. I could watch that movie 100 more times and not catch all of the details. It would be mindblowing to see it high.

The new 3D that they have is awesome, no longer red and blue lenses. None of that crap where shit flies out at you Tim Burton used the 3D to create depth instead of the normal in your face crap that lesser directors do. It is amazing. There is a tunnel screen and it is so deep that it looks like it goes 50 feet into the screen.

I read about the new process and the technology is way different than the red and blue.

The lenses are polarized so all of the colors are 100% accurate. The frame rate is 144 frames per second 72 fps for each eye and each frame is repeated 3 times to reduce flicker. Old 3d is 24 fps that both eyes see.

The really cool thing is that the image is 100% digital so it is like watchin HD tv. The colors are amazing, there is no flicker, no scratches / specs, judder.

Like how little?

It is Tim Burton so it is dark - it is on pace with Nightmare Before Christmas - but I didnt think anything was scary.

I think it is out of the theaters now.

I like watching kids movies stoned - dont ask me why - my buddies in college would watch OLD Disney movies I cant stand those but the new kids movies have a lot of adult jokes in them. I watch all Pixar movies - just saw Bolt (big disappointment).

I think the lessons are more profound for me as an analytical adult then they were as a kid.

That said - I wouldnt consider Tim Burton movies "kids movies." THey are literally pieces of art. Even more amazing that it is stop motion meaning that each frame is carefully planned and posed.
