cooltube vs wing reflector?

Hey.

I usually grow 360degrees around vertical bulb with no reflectors, but due to my current living situation i no longer have the space and need to go horizontal and light from the top.

the space is a walled off closet measuring 2'x5'x7'tall. The room its in is ~10'x12'

The issue:
The windows arent always open in the main room, so even though im running a fan/filter, it will sometimes just be recycling the air in my room.

Would it be worthwhile to get a cooltube?? Or just go with a wing reflector.
Since the main room is sometimes enclosed, i dont know how much the cooltube will help with heat.

Dont tell me to get a hood. Because eventually im going back to vertical and the cooltube could have an application there, but after this the hood would be useless.

Other than that, any input is appreciated! Thanks.

go with the chicken wing.

just try to keep the air moving in that room at all times .. if your not pulling the heat from the light & exhausting it somewhere " as you would with a hood ar cool tube " you need to disperse as much of the heat as possible. nahhh meannn?

also what watt light are you using and do you have a portable AC? .... if not what temp is the room normally at?

You can get cool tubes that come with pretty nice reflectors/hoods, for not that much money. You're going to have to buy a nicer cool tube anyway as most of the cheaper ones don't hold up when vertical. In an area that size, you definitely need some way to air cool your lights though.

600w with a dimmable ballast. I have the option of dimming it down if it gets too hot. today the high was 70F. i dont run AC
There's plenty of air movement in the room. 400cfm exhaust fan and 24" circulation fan

does Anyone know what kind of light patter cooltubes throw?
All i hear is people saying that the light spread is shit. I assume they mean it's shit for a square garden? it might work for a 2x5 space though....

WHAT DOES THE COOLTUBE LIGHT PATTERN LOOK LIKE?!?!?!

Typically cool tubes are without reflector for vertical set ups. The ones that do use a reflector are usually a junk ass reflector that is next to useless, if you look them up even online you can tell they are junk. I have heard of people taking an Adjustable-A-Wing and a cooltube and putting them together to make an air cooled adjustable reflector. The downside of this is you are looking at over $300 in just a hood.
In your case i would just use a reflector, and a fan to pull the heat out of the closet into the room. In most places this time of year a 600 watt won't raise temps in the 10x12 room too much, but you are going to have to listen to a fan.

yeah so i think you would be cool with a cheapo reflector, but i believe this is one of the most personal choices in the room, there is a reason they make 857 different hoods, everyone wants/needs something different.

you should be fine with either but i know for a fact the spread on the chicken wing shits on the cool tube.
