Worried for the summer it will get even hotter in my own tent. What can I do? Cold ice cubes in tubberware? Another fan? Can't get the tube that leads out to fresh air

A/C my friend, 99 dollars at lowes or home depot for a new frigidaire unit (the small one) and it can cool my tent to 60 deg F with a 600 watt light. It can blow out 35 degree air, nuts. I just plumed it into my tent while it sits in a window. I don't know why I have never have run one before. It makes life so much easier. Good luck JR

I can post some pics if you want

Then you need to get hot air out and cool air in, as long as your light is on I would figure that it will be 10 degrees warmer in the grow room than the cold air entering it. What temp are you running at?

well it could be left in the room outside the tent but it will get the room super hot and it will be counter productive to cooling the tent. I have heard of people putting them in a wall between studs letting it work in the wall. I personally would never do that and it will drip water, sooo i guess there is not much else you can do..JR

look for used, if it's an older model it's probably higher quality than the plastic stuff of today.

There are also standing units that don't need to vent outside, but they tend to be expensive and hard to find. I got a big room fan, 24" diameter, and pointed it at the carbon filter. This helps keep the room temp down and lowered the box temp by about 5-7 degrees. The filter use to feel hot and you could feel the warm air as it came out. Now it is cool to the touch.

Hi there, I had the same problem in summer, I'm running 2 x 1000 watt HPS's and it gets bloody hot in there... I solved the problem with a portable a/c unit from a hardware store... You can also pick them up really cheaply on ebay...

See that white thing in the background? That's my lil air/conditioner.. I set it to the temp I want, the heat exhaust goes up that white tube behind it and out of my tent and it climate controls itself... I paid around $350 for mine, it even has a remote... :-)

Dam nice but those get kind of expenso. Is something to cool down where u don't have to have an exhaust? And able to use the same air? Like a ac that u can put water in? What about that hps bulb with th cool tube?
What is purple stem?
