Cooling down my growbox! Any ideas? Pics

I have 2 3" passive intake vents and a 4" 100cfm exhaust fan for my 17"x19"x36" box. its for sure getting all the air out. Im running 4 27w 5000k CFL's and 2 23w 2700k. I also have 1 120mm fan for ventilation on the plants.

The fan is sucking alot of air in but maybe the 2 vents arent enough?

Should i add 2 more 3" vents?

Will the extra vents help with cooling?

WHAT SHOULD I DO?
:(

What are the temps in the box when the lights are on? What is the temp of the room air that you are trying to cool with?

cfls don't throw off that much heat, if the temp gets above 80 then add a vent fan, those are some nice looking indicas bro, what strain?

my room is average about 80degrees. Exhaust is going out the window. and with lights on the box seems to get around 90-95 degrees and off like 83. the two back are grapeape clones. and the small one is bagseed that i topped yesterday. it made her stretch out to the light over night. new growth hasnt started coming out yet

if your room temp is 80 how do you expect to get it any lower?

The bulbs are going to heat up in that box and if you're only getting 10 degree increase from ambient, that's not bad. You need to cool your ambient temp! get your room to 70, the box would be 73-75 at night and 80-85 during day.

You can keep throwing fans at it, but you need to get the entire room cooler.

^^^^^^^^THIS^^^^^^^^

also if you cant do that then you can put some frozen bottles in the box in front of the fan to cool things down but thats not a permanent fix

Use CO2 to utilize the warmer air. Also, having a black cab with the sun on it isnt helping anything either...

I'm definately gonna try the frozen bottle trick when I get home. And gonna put an extra two 3" vents.

Also the box doesn't hit the sun my curtains were just open in the pic

Any other suggestions?

cfls put out lots of heat. I grow with cfls and even the 23 watt's get too hot to touch. Ive tried passive 3 inch intakes and it just doesnt seem to work for small boxes. my last grow i had to put up with 88 degree temps (i know, i know, which is way to hot). that was with a six inch fan stuck in the lower intake hole. one more six inch fan blowing on the lights.

Im subbed for your cabinet problem, if i figure out anything i will let you know.

Your not jokin about the heat. Imagine having 6 of those bitches in there. I have my 105 cfm exhaust fan and I'm gonna put 2 more 3
inch intakes on the other side today when I'm off work. We'll see how she does.

Wish me luck guys!
I'm officially stickin with rollitup cause when I post on grasscity I can never get any help :/

Anything else I should try?
Will the 4 3" intake vents be sufficent enough for the 105 cfm fan?

LISTEN to what they're saying! If your room is that hot, the fans are doing NOTHING but pushing that hot air around. Once that air hits the bulbs it gets hotter. You either need to turn on your A/C so that your room is around 70 degrees (so it will be 75-80 in the box), get an A/C unit JUST for that box, or you need to utilize some kind of way (ice?) to cool the air before it gets sucked into the box.

You're not going to accomplish anything with more intakes or exhausts. You need to have cool air to blow in there. THEN you can worry about sufficient intake and exhaust ventilation.

This is fail. If he's having heat issues and needs to further increase ventilation the box isn't going to hold enough Co2 to make fuckall difference. Ran4, I can promise you that Co2 will be all but worthless in this box.

Killz hit the nail on the head. Kaleox's stopgap idea is real decent as well. Good luck man,

Just so you're aware. Windchill is only felt by people for one reason. It moves the temperature of an object to the air temperature more quickly the faster the wind is.

If your outdoor temperature is 25F and the windchill is 5. . . .everything outside is @ 25F, not so much as half a degree lower. Moving more hot air into your case won't do anything.

Glad to hear the A/C is on.

i will see how they are doing tomorrow with the heat. should be okay hopefully.

no intake fans tho all ventilation fans!

How and where are you measuring your temps. Are you measuring Ambient or radiant temp? ur plants do not look heat stressed at all. I noticed you have grills on your intake, that restricts the air flow.

This is a pic of an ill conceived cab, but notice the piece of glass that insulates the plants from alot of the radiant heat. Also the temp prob in the second picture is measuring radiated heat.

Putting the prob in the shade will measure Ambient temp, I think your temps are lower than you think.

Here is the same prob measuring ambient temp:

my temperature probe is like dangling in the middle of the box.
is that okay?
my plants seem to be okay no heatstress at all.
