Hello!
Just starting have small budget, have a closet 50cm*80cm*200cm. Want to go with lightning Mh veg and Hps Flow in aero system... all mh and hps 400w... it will be very hot? i would need very good ventilation cooling system? Or just some ventilating holes with fan out from closet in room and fan in to closet from room? and im thinking 6 plants only

sorry for my english, just want to go with mh/hps not with cfl's

i made a couple of these and they work great. i have them connected to an exhaust fan and it sucks the heat right out.

it'sa homemade cooltube. looks simple yet effective. two pots either end with bottoms cut out and a metal rod passed through each perpendicular to the rim, stick each pot on the end of a glass tube, use wire etc to tie the two poles together to keep glass in place, then just jimmy rig your bulb in one end and mount somehow, can't see that far :D

if you can't make this, but have a bit of spare cash, buy one, i've got one in my cab and it works real real nice. just have a fan on one end of some ducting, the other end attached to the lamp, the ducting goes out of cab into attic.

with an hps in a small closet, you just have to use good active ventillatiion

how do the cool tubes work?
You connect the correct size ducting to each side of the cool tube. Hook a fan up to one side for intake, and to the other side for exhaust. The fans suck the hot air right out...leaving you with a cooler environment.

hope that helped.

Thats alot of light for such a small closet. hah. But go to discounthydroponics.com they will have all you need for a cooling system for pretty cheap.

so your taking the heat away from the bulb without taking away any of the light, right?

yeah thanks for the insight dude :hump:

i have mine connected to a stanley blower. i have a 6" duct from the blower up to the ceiling. intalled a 6" to 4" reducer with holes in it. connected a 4" duct from the adapter to the cooltube. the holes i drilled will take heat away from the ceiling and still allow enough air to the cooltube. if the light needs more cooling i can tape up a hole or 2 to increase flow to the light. i dont have a pic with the light connected as of yet.

i made mine with a pyrex bake around tube and im sure the glass effects the light but in turn since it is cooler you can get it closer to the plants.

Yeah...if they're not feminized it's gonna be a pain in the arse. You can make dividers inside for each plant. That might work.
