http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-Air-Cooled-Cool-Tube-Wing-Reflector-Hood-For-400w-250w-HPS-MH-Grow-Light-Tent-/190944051570?hash=item2c75270172:g:6f8AAOSwo6lWGOB2

Hoping you know, that's just a hood. You'll need the ballast and bulb, too.

Cheapest set I found on ebay, is iPower.

i have a full setup bro my tent is just way to hot n i need a cool tube just trying to figure out if i might slide by with the cheap one cause its in my range but i wanna be able to move up to 600w and 1000w one day so i dont wanna fry it when that day comes so im not sure if i should get the xl cause it states it handles up to 1000w or just go with da cheapy and a exhaust fan

don`t get a cool tube if you can run an aircooled hood get one of them instead because you have the option to run it with the glass out

but if it has to be a cool tube they both look ok anything over 5" will hold a 600w or 1000w lamp
man i would go with the hood but they are just out of my price range brotha

i was hoping to pick up this tube and a 240cfm exhaust fan and thanks for info helped alot now just a matter of small or big wings

big wings if you have the space for them

Really is a metal hood with a sheet of glass a lot more than a cool tube ? In the uk I think the difference was around £5 or so, but cool tubes are easier to stack

You could try using a light spreader and fan instead of a cool tube, the light spreader stops hot spots and if you fan the reflector and light spreader correctly you can move the heat and get it a lot cooler

but a cool tube does make it pretty easy only down side is you add another layer of glass between the lamp and your plants

see i tried the angle of the fan up and out off of the reflector into the exhaust can and it still was 87 degrees so this my only hope i found a hood with removable glass for lil more

but will have to wait on fan later

87 at canopy ? that`s not too bad as long as your root zone is not going too much over 21`ish C so 70F`ish you`ll be ok a lot of strains can take up to 40c at the top of the plant, hell some will take more than that but depends on other factors too

actually that was my test run temps not even plants or pots inside D:

fully raise light to the top exhaust fan side ways right next to it a clip fan pushing up and off and a big fan at the bottom pushing all the air around

still way too hot and yes not bad temps but this is also colder season if i was to run that during the summer oh man would be a slap in da face numbers i bet

you could try venting fresh air in up high flowing down to make a down draft of cool air

but yeah sounds like you need an air cooled hood and better extraction

In the winter I find we use more hps and MH lamps to get the heat up as we can just vent cool air in for pretty much free

in the summer leds seem better as the heat sits at the top of the tent more and saves on having to water more often, hps makes them drink like hell in the summer as its already 20 to 30c or over so adding the heat from the hids is a bit too much for most set ups in that kinda heat

read the review, only has a 4 ft cord. Look up digital grow on ebay. I have 4 of the cool tubes they carry. $55 with shipping 25 ft cord good deal. They come from China so you just need to be sure all screws are tight.

Did you get the issues worked out Miketaco?
oh sry i kind of have these topic scattered and forget to come back to em xD here's a link to another post that tell's bout the same i explain here http://rollitup.org/t/good-purchase.892244/page-3#post-12205765

so far the tube and fan was good i got down to 80-83 degrees.... but noticing im seeing it dosent matter how fast i put my 6in 240cfm fan on the tube the temps stay the same.. so i have been using a previous owned 4in 100 cfm fan to exhaust my tent i think this is my problem and that A: i need to get bigger exhaust can B: get a reducer from 6in for a 4in and use the 4in100cfm on my cool tube and the big 6in 240 cfm fan to exhaust and hopefully this will help my heating problem a lil bit so far the plants love the light i have it kindof sitting father away that normal but its all good bro ill post pics soon as personal problems are fixed thank you for tuning in bro ^^ hope this helps

It sounds as if you have fan hooked up backwards. You should have 1 of two ways1)filter hooked direct to fan blowing air threw cool tube to exhaust port,or duct hooked to cooltube out exhaust port to fan and filter mounted out side the ten. option 1 is best as air going through cool tube is filtered,no dust.

ok so i have the fan sucking the tube leading to the exhaust hole...ur saying to blow and yes no filter so i would recommend a makeshift filter on the intake ducting of any sort for dust its already getting that way ty
