Cool Tube and Fan

Hey, I'm thinking of setting up a Cool Tube like this with a 600w HPS inside and a 240 cfm inline fan like this....

Think that's a cool idea? Will that fan pull enuff?

those fans arent actually what is specified if ur using quite a bit of ducting. its probably about half or a bit more of 240, if u were gonna use that fan , I would get 2 of them, one to push the air, then one further down the line to pull that air and push it out

Those fans will move some air, but only if there are absolutely no impediments. No air filters, no carbon filters, not too many bends. Anything like that and those fans are worthless and you'll need to step up to an inline fan of the Vortex style.

ya it will work if its only 4 feet of ducting and absolutely no bends, but like I said, they are pretty cheap fans, and like the guy above me said, any restrictions and they drop dramatically in the amount of air they move

I got the same cool tube for a lot cheaper at mdhydro. I wish I hadn't though... The air cooled reflectors have much better light distribution.

Hey, just want to follow up on this -it works fine with a cooltube/600wHPS bulb inside, that cheepee fan and a short 5 foot (total) run. 78 degrees
